Ok, so if any of you are anemic, have you had side effects from the anemia such as shortness of breath, dizziness etc. Do they ever induce early or a little early because of low iron? My level was 9.8 and I am now on supplements but it can take months to build it up. Thanks.

I'm anemic... was picked up at 28 wks... How far along are you? I was told it can take months too...

I am tired ALL the time... which I put down to being pregnant and then moving as well... turned out low iron was playing a part too. I would say I do get shortness of breathe... but then... I am racing around doing stuff after just moving!! When I was walking to antenatal class the other night I was most definately short of breath!!!

    Dizziness not so much.

Anyways... no one has said anything to me about being induced, early or otherwise, due to low iron. And I have been on their cases about the birth and did ask about being induced early (but not cos of the iron)...

Yes, with my last pregnancy.  I had shortness of breath, low iron. low potassium and tycardia (fast heart rate).  It sucked big time.  Always thought I was gonna die...LOL...No my doctors don't induce early because of it.  I had low iron with all my pregnancies and I always have my baby at 39 weeks for other reasons...but not because of the iron issue.

I doubt you will be induced early due to low iron...I have always had issues with anemia, pregnent or not, although this pregnancy has been slightly different as I have a a slight liking for meat (ground beef) which I normally HATE any and all meat.

But even though I haven't been anemic this time around I have has spells of being dizzy, weak and heart palpations.  I think it can be tied to being pregnant, period, but obviously anemia wont help it any.  Good luck!!!
