    This is because you can only see the abstract.  When you can see the full article you find they did remove the top small % (when a study is newer or really old you can read the entire thing before they lock it up).  You see the key here is the word modified.  When they add it to swim up it means they did this extra step and it is assumed.  Strangely, the studies that say msu doesn't work, when you read in detail they skip the modified steps.

    Ok, so for the article in question for X insem they used the semen at the bottom and the Y sperm came form the sperm plus the albumen?

    I guess that is why the results showed no difference in their results. I have read one study that showed a 1:1 ratio, but they didn't sperate the sample. Good for those who wish to skew the results.
