I had a M/C at five months pregnant. I had a natarul delivery. That was four weeks ago. I stopped bleeding like two weeks after the M/C and just had very light spotting. Now, the spotting is getting heavier. I called my dr. who said that this may be my body trying to have a period. I couldnt beieve that I would have one so soon. But I guess she is right. She told me that if the bleeding does not stop in the next week to come in for a U/S. Has anyone else experienced this after a m/c? How long did it take for your first period to return after the M/C?

It sounds like a logical explanation since it has been four weeks.  I wasn't as far as you, but I did start AF again exactly four weeks after my D&C.  Maybe your body is trying to get back into things.

I have found the first month after a m/c everything can vary a lot.  It depends on how fast your hormones drop, how long your m/c took, your physical and mental state afterwards etc.  It does sound like this most likely is a period.  After my latest m/c I had pretty heavy spotting for a whole month then it went to heavier bleeding.  I didn't think it could be a period since I had all that spotting continuously but it turned out it must have been. After the period bleeding all the spotting stopped and 28 days later I had another a/f.
