    Gender Swaying Questions

I am new here.  Have one 2.5 yr old son and looking to conceive a girl.  Since my husband's father's side has not had a girl since 1905 and we are only planning on having 2 kids-  I have been reading all about gender swaying.  Thanks so much for the great website and all the info.  Here are my questions:

    1)  I am confused about whether abstinance is better or worse to conceive a girl.  I see that o+ 12 recommends abstinance for 7 days but Shettles does not.  I am going to try Shettles this month because I am not sure when I O and given our schedules we would probably have a hard time BD at the right time.  So if we are doing Shettles I am unsure whether to BD frequently up until a 2-3 C/O or just wait until the 2/3 day C/O and try once?

    2) I planned to use the vinegar douche before and after- is it better to just soak a tampon in the same solution for after?

    3) I saw the debate re: refresh and reples.  I bought replens - is that the right one to use?

    Thanks

    Re: Gender Swaying Questions

Hi, I also have a son (almost 2), and will only be having 2 kids, so I have one chance to get my girl!  There is a lot of info on your questions in the FAQs - why don't you check there?  I can't remember all the answers off-hand, so you may do better that way!

Thanks for your response.  We are very much in the same place.  Are you trying this cycle- do you have a plan?

I am so confused by this all... I was going to do shettles but now I am thinking to try O+12 instead.  I feel like if I mess up I would most likely be erring on the side of caution and not get pg.  However if I mess up wtih Shettles I could wind up not getting the girl.  Also it seems like Shettles is not as good as O+12.  My mom actually got pg with my sister 5 days before AF!  I also was on LP for a while and just read that if you are over 35 (I am 38) you should not take it and use VItex instead.  Needless to say I stopped LP and started V today.

I also have another BIZARRE QUESTION!!  My DH and I BD last sunday (which would wind up perfect for O+12).  However, before that his swimmies did not come out (ok have no other way of putting this) for several months as he had surgery which prevented this (yes poor guy).  Do you think all of the old ones got out last Sunday?  I would rather not BD again before O+12 so we have a full 7 days but I am afraid there may still be some old ones in there??

    Re: Gender Swaying Questions

No, we're not going to try for 3 months or so - and I will need every second of it to formulate my plan!  There are so many options.  I will just have to figure out what works best for me.  I've been experimenting with the different suppliments, but so far none have lowered my pH, and they are giving me heartburn.  So now I'm experimenting with replens and douching to lower my pH, since suppliments may not be an option for me.  And I'm going to practice identifying my O+12 period.

I just started Vitex about 3 weeks ago.  I wanted to try that because I have irregular cycles, and it's already hard enough to figure out timing without wondering what day I'm going to ovulate!  That, and it's supposed to be good for TTC a girl and raising progesterone levels.

I don't know about your sperm question.  I think that sperm is constantly being produced, and the older ones die off.  Also, if an old sperm gets in there, I would think the younger sperm would beat it to the egg.  I'm really not sure, though.  But if you BDed already, they probably all got out.
