I was talking to a friend the other day who swore that she knew she was having a girl because she had 'girl dots.'  I asked her what they were and she showed me a few she had on her belly.  I was surprised because I've had a few of those pop up while having kids as well but I had boys.  My dermatologist said they're small cherry angiomas...they're very small but bright red.   I always thought that they were just related to pregnancy or aging or sun damage but some people believe they can indicate gender?  Has anyone else heard this?

I have them too, but I have never heard of them being referred to as 'girl' dots, altho I do have 4dds.  

With my last pg my belly was covered with freckles and I thought it was a sure boy sign, since I hadn't had them with the previous two. But no, I hadn't heard of 'girl dots' before.

I have red dots too on the belly... I thought I was having an allergic reaction to something and they are small but very bright red.  I didn't know they had anything to do with gender, actually I didn't know that it was even common in pregnancy - I just thought it was just me....  they say I'm having a boy so I'm not sure if has anything to do with gender or not, but I definately have these spots.   I wonder if there's a difference between the color or size of dots maybe???

Weird.  I had some during my last pregnancy (boy).  I just figured my skin was getting tired of stretching out again and again.  I've never heard of "girl dots." 

Another old-wives tale obviously.

That's what I had during my last pregnancy....lasted the whole nine months and just went away a few months after my daughter's birth.  Didn't really have them on my belly, and they weren't overly BRIGHT red.  I never had these with the boys.

I'm sorry but this is the silliest thing I've ever heard! I had some "dots" like the ones you mentioned before when I wasn't even pregnant!!! And they went away. Never heard this one before... lol!
