Help - I need cheering up

Hi everyone, congrats to all the December mummies.  Can't believe there are so many of us mad enough to have a baby so close to xmas! Some of you may have seen my previous posts and I am going to be giving birth to one very poorly little boy in December.  He will be having the first of 3 open heart surgery's in his first week of like and there is a high chance I may loose him.  But there also is a chance he can get through all his surgeries and lead a relatively normal life.  Anyway after all the stress I am determined to enjoy the rest of this pregnancy and look forward to meeting him (I am being positive even if it kills me).  I am planning on getting a 4d scan so I can see his beautiful little face :-) I just wondered how everyone elses pregnancy was going and wondered if anybody else had a 4d scan, are they worth the money?  If so when is the best time to have one?  We are calling our little one James Joseph, anybody else have a name?  Sorry for the randomness of this post I just want to feel like a normal mummy to be again and have a bit of a chat.

Re: Help - I need cheering up

First of all just know that we are all praying for your little man!

I cant wait to have my 4D ultrasound later on and see their little faces. It will be fun to see everyones 4D's and then see the babies when they are born. So sweet.

I like the name James Joseph very nice! I think we are going with the name Cale Duane. Duane is my DH's middle name.

My oldest DD says that Cale will be born looking just like her Daddy and I said well he could look like me and she told me NO, that I didnt make a very good boy, so he had to look like Daddy!

this is the first summer ever that I am excited to have over. I am ready for the cooler weather to snuggle with a big pregnant belly under warm sweaters.

I am taking my progesterone injections and up until a few days ago it was holding off all preterm labor. But contractions are coming more and more and I will start oral medication this week. I want this little one to make it to at least 37 weeks.

Good luck with your pregnancy and I am praying for you both! HUGS!! If you ever need to have mommy chat just let me know!

Thanks for replying, its so nice to have a normal chat and feel like a normal person again!  I pray those contractions hold off and that your little one is cooked to perfection.  I like your name too, DS1 had the same middle name as my hubby, he is Oliver Philip.  I have contacted a 4d place and have asked them what the best time is.  We should def start a 4d picture thread when we get them done.  Good luck for your pregnancy too, make sure you take it easy x

P.s. I think its an excellent compliament that you don't make a good boy!

Re: Help - I need cheering up

Hi there!  Yes, I admit to being crazy for having a Christmas baby.  I always said that was the one time of the year I would not want to have a baby.  Then we decided to start TTC, and didn't feel like delaying it a month to avoid a possible December baby- because hey, who gets pg on the first try, 2 times in a row?  Me, apparently.  With a December 25th due date.  Ha!

I'm sorry your little one has some heart problems.  I just wanted to write and share an encouraging story with you.  A family from my church was expecting a daughter, and found out that she had very serious heart problems.  The doctors didn't think she (the baby) would remain alive during the pregnancy, let alone after birth.  Well, this October she will be turning 5. Happy Smile I know she has had a few heart surgeries, and this fall is scheduled to have her last one.  I pray that your little one has the same positive outcome.  Would you like me to try to get her mom's contact information for you?

As far as 4D ultrasounds- I think they're really neat.  I've had one at 14 & 19 weeks, and will likely be having one more.  I think they're best for seeing the face starting around late 20's as far as number of weeks.  That's when I'm planning to go back.

Re: Help - I need cheering up

I am with you in the who gets pregnant first time club!  I do have to admit through December the 25th beats my December 9th due date Happy LOL

That would be lovely if you would speak to your friend.  Our consultant has told us that unless there are other complications he is almost certain to get through the pregnancy because of the fetal heart circulation.  Its when the duct closes up on about day 3 that these babies start to deteriorate.  He will be put on a drip straight away though to prevent this.

    I can't wait to get a 4D scan now!

Thats a beautiful name thinking pink, I bet you are over the moon to be getting your little girl.  When I told my little boy he was having a brother he said he was sad.  When I asked him why he said that he didn't want a boy he wanted a girl.  He then went onto say that it was ok because when I have pressed the button to get the boy baby out I can drink some more wine and make a girl baby.  He thinks that babies are made by drinking wine and you press a button when the baby is ready to come out. Actually hes kind of right on the wine thing!

Your son is too funny!  My oldest was mad that we're having a girl, because he wanted another brother.  It's funny how they have a preference at such a young age.  I think both of our boys will get over it once their siblings are born (I hope!).
