    2 visits this week

I have 2 appointments this week. One for  my weekly fluid/placenta check and the other another GD test and regular doctor check-up.

My doctor and the specialist are still up in the air about my delivery. They say I need to wait until I'm 34 weeks to discuss a VBAC versus a c-section. Both babies have separate placentas/sacs. They are both measuring within 2-3 ounces of each other, and at the last visit they were both head down.

The one thing is that I had a c-section last October with a low transverse cut. Prior to this I had 2 vaginal delivereies with babies weighing close to 9 and 8 lbs. So I think my own doctor was leaning toward VBAC, I didn't know if that would be risky or not. I do know that these babies will probably not be as big, since twins generally are much smaller than singletons, so perhaps that is why he is looking at that. Well, I suppose in 3 weeks I will know, although I am already getting a lot of Braxton Hicks..

    Re: 2 visits this week

IMO I think you are a great candidate for a VBAC.  I really had to fight to have a vaginal delivery and it ended up being an easy delivery.  Both my boys had been 9 pounders vaginal births.  My twins were 4.3 and 5.8 lbs.  The 5 pounder was breech and 2nd to come out which should have meant I needed a CS but I kept insisting that I could do it.  And I did!  2 pushes for Baby A and a breech extraction 3 mins later for Baby B.  The other medical staff in the room said it was the slickest twins delivery they'd ever seen.  Happy Wink

If you feel like you can do it then keep telling your OB that.  They are making a judgement call and take into account your determination to deliver vaginally.  I hope your twinzies stay head down and cooperate for you.   Feel free to PM me if you have any questions about vaginal births etc.

As of today 31 weeks and 3 days,

    Twin A- 4 lbs, 1 oz

    Twin B - 4 lbs, 2 oz

Both babies head down and moving well.

The specialist says to come back in 2 weeks for a growth scan, and non-stress test.

That sounds great!  My Twin A was already showing a big growth disparity at this point so yours sound like they are chugging away.  Have you had a chance to tour the hospital yet?  It was helpful for me to see the operating room where I'd deliver before hand.  It's a pretty sterile place so it was nice that it wasn't a surprise.  I also wanted to see the route I'd be moved from my room to the operating room when it was time to push.

I will stop by the hospital at my next visit in 2 weeks. The perinatalogist is located a couple of blocks down the street from the hospital.

    Re: 2 visits this week

I thought it was helpful.  I also took a private tour of the NICU just in case.  We never needed it but I always feel more empowered when I am well informed.  I don't like surprises.  The only thing that caught me off guard during my delivery was how much of a spectacle I was for the medical students.  I was a "teaching example" and it wasn't even a teaching hospital so I thought.  I didn't mind if they were just observing, but I got really ticked off when a nurse brought in a student and they were both going to check my cervix dilation.  Uh HELL NO that hurts and I don't need it done twice.  So I guess my point is if that would bug you, state up front that you do not want students touching you.
