Sorry to be the down-sider of things but I thought that the age gap
I have between my children (5 years) would surely mean that I would get the opposite
gender - I mean so much happened in those years and I endured very much jobstress
etc and my nutritional status would have given me a girl instead of a son, but
as you all know a son again with the 5 years age gap - so sorry, I dont think that
the spacing of them has any impact at all...just the luck of the draw

belladini:I don't know how old you are, but if I were you, I'd take a few years before trying again.
Well, I'm 25...will be 26 next month. So I'm still a super young spring chicken. But it's hard not to want to think about trying again soon. But the thought of 4 girls is so overwhelming, especially since a lot of the time I feel like I have my hands full with just the 3. I don't know anything about having better chances with waiting longer. I thought the older you get the greater chance you have at girls, but considering I conceived my first girl at 19 I don't think my chances could get any better. LOL! And I don't know if a big age gap would help either, I haven't seen any evidence either way. I have no idea if we could afford or even if DH would go for high tech, if even MicroSort. I haven't talked to him about it yet. And when I told him about At Home High Tech and all Redcin did to conceive her boy, he thought it sounded crazy. But the look of dissapointment on his face with this 4th girl, maybe he'll change his mind? Right now though my goal is to lose all of the weight from all of my pregnancies, plus maybe some more, before trying again . And I want the timing to be right, as far as how old our girls will be and their school schedules.
Honestly I'm feeling pretty good today! I even got over the shock enough to send out my ultrasound announcement to the rest of my family. But I also haven't left the house since we found out. That's the real test, whether I can see little boys and hear people's comments without feeling sad.

You do have lots of time to TTC again! I know what you mean about wanting to try again soon....when I found out ds3 was a boy I started planning when we would TTC down to month... well I didnt get pg the first month but I did the second month! When I was PG w/ ds4 I knew he was a boy from the start but at the u/s when it was confirmed I said I cant do this again. I sold a bunch of my maternity clothes and it just didnt feel right so I talked to my dh and decided to try again but it took forever for my cycle to come back and now I will find out if this is a boy or girl next week. I told dh I will only breastfeed for 6 months to try 1 last time if this is a boy, so I'm already planning my next attempt!
BTW my first 3 are all 5 years apart I dont believe in the timing thing.
I glad you are feeling better today!

I have to jump in on the age thing too only because ds#1 is 11yrs older than ds#2 and actually ds#1 is 15yrs older than ds#5!!
Yeah so I don't believe that one either hehehe. Oh and my last son was born when I was 37. Even my old eggs like boy sperm :) my super old eggs liked girl sperm though, go figure
