My dd never had any spotting or leaking milk so I think it just depends on the baby...but everyone is right. Nothing to worry about. According to my doctor, baby powder is not good for either gender b/c of the dust, but esp girls because it gets kind of pasty in their folds. The main thing my dr sees is adhesions in baby girls' vaginas....from not cleaning in there well or often enough. You don't have to go digging and like a pp said there is some white gunky discharge in there, but that's normal. I just check at every diaper change by spreading the folds apart a little and wipe gently if I need to.

Dd can also get a nice little spurt of pee going like a boy. Lol. But usually it is the huge wet spot under her like someone else said.

I don't use headbands b/c they leave such a red line on her head....and those velcro bows don't stay in on her, but her hair is finally long enough to out a tiny alligator clip bow on. It falls out if she's very active, though. Lovemy3 makes some awesome bows. Jojo has posted some pics of them on her daughter. I'm not sure if they're still on here, but you could try searching "lovemy3" and "bows"

Try not to worry too much. I was scared, too, but I think you'll be suprised by how *not different* it will be. At least I was.
