Hmm [^o)] Packing on the lbs. already

ARG!!! What is it about me and being pregnant that causes me to gain weight by LOOKING at food!?!?! I know it's for a wonderfully, beautiful cause, but I've already gained 8 lbs and I'm beside myself in disbelief lol. I mean, where is this weight coming from?? When I asked my doc about it at my 12 wk visit (I'd gained 5 lbs in the first trimester) he mentioned it was prolly only water weight. I wonder...is it STILL water weight?!?! I've been so sick with this pregnancy, so I have to admit I haven't been able to stomach anything healthy (and by anything I mean anything Worried). I thought for sure that part would help with limiting the weight gain early on, but apparently not! Anyone else in the same boat, or am I the only one who is either bloated up to her eye balls or really eating more than she thinks she is?

I think alot of people are not going to come out and say 'oh yeah I gained 20lbs in the first tri' but to say they've put a little weight on.  One person on BBC said they were happy they only gained 12lbs the whole PG ....I thougth if that were true that is not a good thing!!!  I'm not afraid to say I've gained 12lbs so far and I expect to put on about 25 more.  I think you are doing fine!

And I am having a REALLY hard time coming to terms with putting weight on in this pregnancy.  I haven't yet but I think it's cause I started out at such a high weight to begin with.  It might be a while before I really start to pack the weight on but when it does start to happen, I will totally freak out.  I know I shouldn't but if i was thinner when I started out, I would be totally fine with adding more weight.  Since I went into this pg needing to lose like 50 pounds, I am just a mess over what my body will look like at the end of the pregnancy...LOL...

    Oh well...haha...

I've only gained 5 pounds and I feel like something's wrong.  After I eat dinner I look pregnant, but when I wake up my stomach doesn't even bulge.  I haven't heard the heartbeat yet, but I get nervous with thoughts that I'm going to go in and hear no heartbeat.  My stomach got big fast with DD#2, but I was also retaining water.

Here's what I have for the amount of weight gain expected, but it wasn't true for me with my girls.  I whopped up to 170 with DD#1 and 160 with DD#2.  I had 50 pound weight gains with both!

    7 pounds is maternal stores

    4 pounds-increased fluid volume

    2 pounds-breast enlargement

    2 pounds-uterus

    7.5 pounds-baby

    2 pounds-amniotic fluid

    1.5 pounds-placenta

I have gone from 65kg to 64.5kg.  I was very fit B4 though, I ran a dog walking business and walked  other peoples dogs for 2 hours a day and my own for an hour and a half, plus a horse ride of 1-2 hours.  ( Now I can see why my house was such a mess with all that time spent on animals!!) So now, with the 'muscle weighs twice as much as fat' fact going round in my head, and my bum looking much bigger, I know I lets say, have changed shape!! LOL. I have lost the muscle and gained fat so overall I have prob put on loads, if you KWIM?!! I know I am bigger because I'm too big for even my stretchy clothes ( not bump either but bum and thighs!!)

I don't seem to have had a prob thus far losing the weight after having the babies but number three took the longest, I had such a double chin!!

Jojo, just to say though that on the belly gallery, unless that piccy is of someone else, you look absolutley fine, I remember seeing your BMI ticker, and then I saw your pic and let me tell you, you look great.  If this is your last baby, you have forever to lose the preg weight anyway, so bugger it!!

I was thinking of writing a post just like this one! lol The 1st trimester I gained 10 lbs. and that was basically the last month of the the 1st trimester. For me I know it's me eating alot. I am always so nauseous and eating makes it go away. Not happy with myself at all. With my first two pregnancies I didn't gain too much in my 1st tri because I was soooo sick. So I should be glad I'm not throwing up every day. But I still ended up gaining 50 or so lbs with both boys. Luckily I lost most of it after I had them. With the exception of keeping a few extra pounds. I am just hoping I even out here. Cuz if I gain this much all the way through I will be huge! lol. And I hate it when people say, oh your allowed to be gaining weight, it's the baby. I think I'm only 3 months, it's not the baby yet!! It's fat! Oh well, not much I can do yet. Glad to see it's not only me. Thanks!

I has shocked at my 12 wk appt. to learn I had gained 12 lbs in the first trimester! I don't look very different and can still wear my jeans, and the nurse just said my body is probably just making up for the fact I'm petite and perhaps underweight pre-preg? The most important advice she said is not to compare, because body types are so different, and usually gaining more upfront evens itself out by gaing less in 2nd trimester. She said not to obsess over numbers and that the Doc would inform me if my gain or habits were at all unhealthy. Not obsess over the scale?? But I'm a woman! :)

I should have used the qualifier "in clothes." Out of clothes, a totally different story!! Haha
