I bought some really great Pearl Earrings at Walmart for DD's first BD portrait. They were like 14.99 and looked sooooo beautiful on her! Walmart has a really great selection of toddler and infant earrings at the Jewelry counter!

Argh. All those pics of baby earrings are making me waver.....I don't want to pierce dd's ears.  I think. My mom made me wait until my 8th b-day and I remember being soooooooooooooooooooooooo excited when we drove to the mall. I kinda want that excitement for dd, kwim?

But maybe she won't be excited like I was? IDK.

no more then a shot.  Seriously, it's definitely more barbaric to poke 5 shots into my dd's legs.  For me, I was 5 when I got mine done and while I was excited at first, it quickly turned into a tramatizing experience for me.  They pierced one and then I freaked out and didn't want to let them do the other.  I had a very bad experience with it.  So that is why I opted to get dd's done early so she wouldn't have to remember it.

 

I had DD#1&2's ears pierced at 6 months old--DD#3 was done at 3 months old.  As for the hoops, I waited a bit--DD#1 got a pair of 14k hoops for Christmas when she was three--we put them in and never had problems with them, but I was worried about hoops at a younger age!

I have the ladybug earrings that were posted--I loved them for DD#1!!  Now I need to go and check out that site!  DD#3 is still in her piercing studs It has kinda been a tradition in our family that Nana buys the girls their "1st" pair of earrings for Christmas(but seeing as we just had DD#3's ears done last year right before, she help off on buying any new ones yet!)

DD started to cry when we got them done but once I put the bottle in her mouth she was ok

yeah I was traumatized like jojo too. I was 5 and managed to get them infected because I kept playing with them. That is the sole reason I did DD's ears the week right after her shots.

Actually i do not think that she cryed because of the piercing at all. She was more upset that my dh was holding her tight. LOL. As soon as her let her go she stopped!!! I did not have to nurse her or give her the soother. Funny thing is that even with her last shots she did not cry with the first needle. LOL Of course she screamed with the second.

Plus they did both ears at the same time. 

Alli if you are going to get it done make sure they do both ears at the same time. 

DD just pulled her earing out yesterday and we could not find it so we went to walmart and we got her some new ones

We got a set that came with the red lady bugs,  white with diamond dragonflies, and green butterflies. I also bought her a set of peal ones that came with the bracelette. all were silver and cost $22 all together

 

Here's my experience with earrings on dd...I actually LOVED using hoops because I believe that they are more comfortable to sleep in...however I have resorted back to her original earrings (the ones she got her ears pierced with) because any other kind I have used have fallen out within a month (and we always seemed to lose one of the two).  I plan to keep her original earrings in until she's older because they "lock" in place and I dont need to worry about them falling out (and her swallowing them).  I have tried both hoops as well as the regular kind of earrings...
