help.......which PH is it!

These strips confused me too!!

Top looks like a 6.25 bottom could have green in it and therefore be high or could be yellowy and acidic, hence the confusion!.  You are not alone.

Yoou need to buy some universal pH paper strips ( orange in colour) I got mine from e-bay.  My pH was clearly a 6 on them.  No ambiguity.

Thats definitely a 4.5

I'd say 4.5 also!!

I would also say between 4.5 and 5.  I have the exact same test strips, and my colors look very similar to yours.  I have 2 other kinds of test strips and they say 5, so I would just go by the bottom color. 

I just ordered these strips to start testing my and DH's pH--but after looking at yours I would definitely say it looks like a 4.5 to me!

I definitely dont think that it is a 4.5. I would say more like 6.0, or even 6.25.

Mine looks quite similar with these strips, but I have just got the universal ones too and it's so useful to compare - universal said between 4 and 5 so I would go with that.

I have this kind and called the company on 7-15-08 for an expanation of how to read them. BTW I did not tell them what I was testing.

According to the company wait 15 seconds and then read. Try to match up both boxes but if they do not both match then go by the top one. This usually means it is between numbers she said.

That being said I think yours is a 6.25.

Due to this confusion, I am really looking into a digital tester. These strips (in my opinion) are too open to confusion and error.

I did buy some universal test strips, but they hardly changed at all....maybe I bought the wrong ones of those

 Between the average of your ph-ion strips and the color on your universal strips, I'd say you are a 5.

FWIW, I had a LOT of trouble reading my pH w/the ph-ion strips in the beginning. Now that I got my pH higher, it's much less confusing and I like them better again! 

are those universal strips actual "Universal" branded? I got mine from the US and they have a chart with colours for 1,2,3,4 etc not jumps of 1,3,5 etc. - you won't get exact enough readings from those.
