I know many of you answered this question a few months back, I'm too lazy to look for the post. How many weeks pregnant were you when you delivered your multiples and tell if it was a c-section or natural.

I was going to ask the doctor to give me a c-section at 37 weeks. My midwife told me I probably have to wait until 38 weeks. I don't thnk so though. 

 I don't have multiples, but I am an RN who works in maternal/child. At my hospital, and with the docs in my area they won't do an elective induction or c-section at 37 weeks. However, if there is a reason (high BP, Gestational Diabetes etc) then they will. For elective purposes they make the mommy's wait til 38 weeks. Hope that helps, good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I previously had a placental abruption that resulted in fetal demise when I went into labor at home at 39 weeks, so I wanted to have the c-section ahead of the time that I could possibly go into labor naturally.

I'll have to talk with my doctor in any case, I had read that twins reached lung maturity sooner than singletons, with  36-38 weeks being the average time they are born?

Given your circumstances, I am willing to bet you could talk them into letting you deliver around 37/38 weeks. They may want to do an amnio to check lung maturity, but you are right, most twins are born around 35-38 weeks and do fine. They do reach lung maturity sooner than a singleton. Let me know what the docs tell you!
