I was at the grocery store with my three youngest boys this evening and the clerk states " you have your hands full, are they your grandchildern or yours"?  I replied EXCUSE ME!  They are mine. I just turned 40 in April but normally get comments on how young I look, I guess not tonight.  I am shocked at how rude people can be. I'm just curious if this has ever happened to anyone else or am I truely the only mature mama???

This has never happened to me (I look young for my age and I did have mine at 30 and 32).  Don't take it to heart - some people are just plain stupid, and rude!

Its nver happened to me but it did a lot to my poor dad when me and my sister were growing up. $0 isn't old just don't listen to them. And remeeber we live in a time where lots of teenagers are having kids and dumping them on the parents so people are just seeing more young grand parents.

DITTO!!  It has not happened to me, but it did to my DH!  I guess he's a mature papa!

That's just what I was thinking. If they saw me, they'd think I was ready for the senior citizen's home. And I think I look decent for my age, too.
