    Clumsiness

Are my DDs the only ones cursed with being so dang clumsy?  I feel like they are constantly tripping and falling down.  It's driving me crazy, as lately they will start letting out this shreik crying sound and come running to me like there's something I can do.  So I just pat them on the head, look to make sure there's not too much blood, and tell them to be more careful.  A couple of days ago my DD1 fell down like 6 times that day, I mostly blame it on the sandals with heels that she wears and insists on continue to wear even though she can hardly walk in them.  It is starting to get so old though!

Oh I have noticed that girls are much more accident prone!  My bffs dd is and my own dd is.  I don't get it.  My dd is always falling and walking into things.  She drives me nuts.  My boys get hurt too...but they do it on purpose Happy ROFL

My ds#2 is clumsy and I always figured that was just how he was but then I mentioned it to his ped. (how he constantly runs into things, has poor coordination, etc.) and she put in a referral for an occupational/physical therapy evaluation.  I took him and we found out that he has lax joints and this makes the messages get to his brain slower than they do in a "normal" kid.  So for example, by the time the signal gets from his brain to his foot that there is a rock in the way, he has already stubbed his toe on it.  Does that make sense?  It is a bit hard to explain.  I would mention it to your kids' ped the next time you take them in.  It never hurts to be cautious!

Trust me, you are not alone!!  My girls are so clumsy!  We swear that my middle daughter could stand on completely flat ground, not walking and with no one within 100 feet of her and STILL fall down and hurt herself!  I have to say that at 6, 7 & 8 they seem to be getting marginally better.  I'm not the most graceful person, though, so I can't help but think they probably took after me!
