Nothing to do with gender. With my DS, the heartrate was sometimes in th 130's and sometimes in th 170's range. I think it all depends on whether baby is sleeping or awake and playing in the uterus.

Nope. Its a complete old wives tale :) All my babies (boy and girl) have different heart rates depending if they are sleeping or kicking around.
