Hi Michele, Congratulations on your twin pregnancy!!
I have 13 month old twin boys and they are sooo much fun! I am a twin (identical) and my husband is a twin (fraternal) and we always wanted twins. We ate lots of yams, soy milk and flax seed to make it happen and it worked! We willed it to happen.
I had a great pregnancy, I loved it, until the end when I got kidney stones, but that is because we had 40 degree heat and I was outside working (stupid I know!) I was drinking tonnes of water but not enough I guess. I ended up in hospital but it all worked out ok in the end.
We are now trying ttc twin girls, I always dreamt that my twins would be girls, so maybe the next pregnancy they will be!
Try not to worry too much, as I am sure you will be just fine. Just make sure you rest when you are tired and you really listen to your body. I am a ski instructor and managed to carry on teaching until I was 61/2 months.
My advice would be to keep those babies in your belly for as long as possible, at least till they are 37 weeks. My doctor got the dates wrong ( he was 2 weeks out, even though I kept telling him, he didn't listen and they were born by planned C-section at 35 weeks) they then spent 10 days in intensive care, which was so heartwrenching. They are were fine and are strong healthy boys now, but I wish they could have stayed in till 37 weeks.
My other advice would be to feed them both at the same time, that will be a life saver! If one is still asleep and the other one is hungry, then wake the sleep one and feed as well, they will then get in a routine together and your life will be way easier. If you are going to breastfeed, then a double nursing pillow is priceless.
Good luck, and once again congratulations and welcome to the world of twins! it is sooooo much fun!!!
