Jennifer, do you have pics of your 17 week and 24 weeks u/s's? I know you said it is quite clear it's a boy, but would you mind sharing them? Can you see on your 17w where the tech thought it was a girl? Did she see 3 white lines? Or just lack of a penis?

 

One of my best friends was told it was definitely a boy at her 12 week scan. I saw this scan and it really looked like there was no question it was a boy.  Then at her 20 week scan and thereafter she has been told girl. Had the 3 lines and all. So for two months she was over the moon b/c she really wanted a boy. She is due on Oct. 1 so we will see what she delivers but everyone is sure it is a girl based on all the most recent scans. I hope for her sake it is b/c she got all pink stuff at the baby shower.

I've seen Jen's u/s and yes she had three white lines - very convincing for a little girl!

I have actually heard of more stories of boys turning into girls because in the ultrasounds the swollen genitals of the girl made it look like a boy. 

yep my boy turned into a girl at 38weeks!!! wasnt very impressed!! im still trying to find the u/s pics from 32weeks when i was told boy i hope to post them as soon as i find them

I am hoping this happens to me. I know of one woman on another board who it happened to and a friend of DH's family. I am not sure if I want to get the 4D U/S I just scheduled for 30 weeks b/c if it says boy I don't know how I'll react. I know there would still be a chance it could still be a girl at delivery, but I feel like the chances would go down. Should I get the 4D U/S?

Well, i have not had my baby yet, but I had 2 ultrasounds at 19 weeks to check gender and the tech was  really sure it was a boy. Now Im 22 weeks and i had my ultrasound at the doctors office and the tech was really sure it was a girl. Basically im really confused and annoyed!!

I had a close friend and neighbor that this happened to. They are Navy and she had like 4-5 U/S,seriously. They were told BOY everytime. Had boy stuff, boy clothes everything. Because like 5 different Dr's had told them BOY......and GUESS WHAT? They have a 6 year old beautiful Priscilla now,lol....she came out ALL girl. And the funny thing is my friend said she KNEW all along and kept telling everyone its a girl and of course everyone said she was crazy.

Thats how I feel.....and my 17 wk U/S wasn't that concvincing ....to ME, everyone else sees his bits. But I still feel GIRL. I am holding a little hope. I wish I had a scanner to post my pic.    The only thing is the same girl that told me Lilah was a girl, did my U/S this time and apparently she is rarely wrong. But I did not ask a percentage or how often she has ever been wrong, if any!

I still think my baby is a girl too. I think anyone I've told this (except my mom) has thought I'm nuts but I don't care. I have mostly gender neutral stuff so I know the baby will be okay either way. I did get a lot of boy stuff from my SIL but I have not washed any of it and don't plan to unless I do give birth to a boy. I plan to take back most stuff I get from friends & family that is too boy as well, if I can.

I have no idea what to believe with ours - they say 99.9 percent chance of boy - and I'd think they wouldn't be wrong - although it would be WAY cool if they were because our first preference was a girl.   But I each day I discover a new wives tale, that I'll fall into the category of a girl - even our last doctor's vist the RN mentioned that the baby had a girl's heart rate - yes, I know all signs  (wives tales) point to a girl, except the 20 week u/s tech who said 99.9 boy!!   I have no vibes at all - I keep looking at the belly with such confusion.  I've bought lots of blue outfits, and things so I'm assuming they're not wrong - if they are I'll just roll over laughing about this whole situation.   That would be totally cool if we got a suprise girl.   But I'm still planning on boy because 99.9 percent is pretty high.

I think I've talked to you through PMs before Jenn. During my pregnancy I was told girl at 19 wks then boy at 30 weeks then girl again at 32 week (I paid for a private 3d scan). I did end up having a girl about a week ago. I didnt believe it till I saw her.

I am so happy for you!!!  Your story is a story of hope and inspiration!!!  (Mine (as of yet) is not!)

This is the only fear I have in finding out the gender on Thurs - I am so afraid they will say girl and it is a boy or vice versa!

I have never heard of it happening IRL, but I'm sure it does happen!!
