Re: Chinese medicine boy friendly ?? I saw preliminary results

    darling:

This is so exciting. I am concerned though that they don't going to give us any concreate/ usable information beacause of #3 on the list....They migh decide to keep teh secret for themself.

I would be glad to go to Chinese medicine practitioner and pay for information/treatment especially since I have fertility problem BUT I don't know where to go and if the person would know what herbs are really boy friendly.

I imagine the data will be published in some sort of journal, so I don't think it's going to remain a secret. However, people's bodies and conditions are different and attempting to use Chinese medicine on one's own without supervision from a trained practitioner probably isn't a good idea. I think any of us who attempt to use this information should plan to do so with the help of someone trained in Chinese medicine. I think this information will be really helpful, but IMO, it might not be 'do-it-yourself' type stuff. I could be wrong, like I said, that's JMO.

I hope this is the 'missing link' I'm searching for, 'magic' chinese medicine, it does sound promising. My boy sway failed, grrr, but with this new info plus a bit more thoroughness on my part [actually buying the PH Tester strips this timeDoh!] It could just sway it in my favour? How do you find a reputable Chinese Medicine practicioner? - I expect they all say they're reputable?! - Is there some governing body?

Had a thought - If the Chinese Medicine thing was very effective for TTC boys, surely it'd be well known in China & there wouldn't be a surplus of unwanted abandoned baby girls?!!

The Chinese regard CM as actual medicine, so not everyone would probably practice it if they didn't have trouble conceiving on their own. Plus, nothing but PGD is 100% accurate. Even this will not be fail-safe. Bottom line: if you need something that's iron-clad, you need PGD or adoption.

FWIW, there is a CM practitioner in my town and I've gone to a lecture she held at a local school and spent some time talking to her. She's really knowledgeable about a lot of things and I would certainly trust her if I needed fertility advice, but I don't buy into everything about CM (for instance, she won't wear sunscreen and I'm not about to do that!). She never mentioned a governing body though.

    she won't wear sunscreen
That doesn't instill confidence! - Unless she has some magic herb that shields skin from UV rays, but she'd be a millionaire if she did.

I've never dabbled with Chinese Medicine because of it's associations with using bits of tigers & sharks, I wouldn't want to support that side of it. Tho if it 'guaranteed' a DS my morals would probably fly out've the window. Maybe the herbs alter PH, adding to a sway but obviously I've no idea & I'm wanting to see this report!

Re: Chinese medicine boy friendly ?? I saw preliminary results

    Hi everyone

Well the latest news:  here goes.Happy

The preliminary report is completed and although I have not got my hands on it yet. From what I discussed with the head researcher in basic terms, the overwhelming conclusion is given a specific treatement using chinese herbs that from the Stats that are currently being audited by an external auditor , they have noted 82.5% had boy conceptions. It is my understanding that number of total patients this was based on was 564 patients.

As I have said in my previous posts they are very fussy about this info and that it will be abused by not so savoury people as it was explained to m in no uncertain terms and they are waiting on the external audit to be complete .

I need to respect their wishes.  They will give me extracts of the findings to post here and they happy to answer  to some questions that you may have on the findings.

But they are emaphatic that and concerned about this research being used  to scam people so they are happy to assist but will not reccommend places to etc.  These people are the very ethical so at least we can feel safe that they will not misguide us in anyway and give false hopes etc.

    Hugs Melody Love Ya!

Melody, is this about Chinese medicine for infertility in general? Since you aren't allowed to give out information on what we need to take, would it be beneficial for us to go ourselves to a doctor that specializes is Chinese Medicine, or is this something that only these particular Doctors do?

Hi Mrs Maya it is for both.

They genuinely want to assist and my understanding but I need to check with them, that they are going to allow people from this site to PM them Happy Smile and in return they will ask for your gender results for their expanded study.

I would definetely wait a few days and seek their advice etc.

Gee, I am so happy for everyone ttc a DS as although they would never guarantee it they are very serious and geniune.

I wish they would find a way to conceive a DD for me.

Hopefully I was meant to come on this site to help others.
