Looking for other 38+ ladies who have been trying to conceive over 2+ years

Hi, I am looking for other ladies who have been trying to conceive and carry a baby to term. It has been over 2.5 years for myself and my DH. I have had a surgery and lost one tube, two back to back miscarriages, (both around 12 weeks) and now nothing. My hormones are crazy and I am so up and down all the time. I am feeling like this whole baby thing is ruining our lives and I just want to know how others are feeling and how they are handling it. When do you say enough is enough? I am trying to be happy with just my DH but it has been a dream of mine for so long to have a family. I always thought I would have a big one too. So much for the white picked fence. I am consumed by all of this and I am at a loss of how and what to do from here. Any ideas? Thanks and I look forward to your stories and how you are handling things. Kerri

Re: Looking for other 38+ ladies who have been trying to conceive over 2+ years

    Hi there,

Have you considered to go the IVF-route? I think that many can get pregn with IVF and if your own biological eggs

have a not so good quality then there is always egg donors who-s eggs one can use.

My sister did three rounds of IVF and then she had her DD.

Another thing that can be done with IVF or just as a separate mean is acupuncture -

I have heard of at least two women who swears by it, one who got preg naturally and one who

had IVF-treatment at the same time went for acupuncture. Where do you live? They have not so costly IVF-treatment centers in Russia

and the former eastern european countries. They have good equipment and technology there too, so dont feel discuraged just cause they are not just as famous as the US-clinics.

    Dont loose hope yet!

Hi there and Welcome.  So frustrating and upsetting to be trying for so long and then to have the miscarriages too!  I am sorry for you losses!  I would definitely go see a Reproductive Specialist at a Fertility Clinic?   What is the nearest city to you and we can help you find a place?  Has your OB given you any advice about what to do next.  I would not give up just yet.   TJ

Re: Looking for other 38+ ladies who have been trying to conceive over 2+ years

Hi,  I am almost 38 and finally got pregnant after about 2 years of ttc.  I was diagnosed last year with hyperthyroidism, my TSH levels were 24, the normal range is 2 - 5.5.  I took liquid selenium and kelp daily, it took a few months to work but now my TSH levels are back to 4.2.  I would suggest getting your thyroid levels checked if you haven't already done so as that can cause fertility problems.

I finally got pg in May, I added B6 that month but not until cd14, only purchased it that day, so may not have helped.  I started taking coQ10 the month before, found some lovely kids orange chewable ones, I'm so fussy.  I bought some fertility stones on ebay that month too for $7, I was getting desperate.  My next step would've been to buy a getting pregnant hypnosis cd on ebay.  Have you tried using B6 and coQ10?

Good luck, I hope you get pg soon.

Re: Looking for other 38+ ladies who have been trying to conceive over 2+ years

Thanks for all the support and advice to keep trying. I have been to the specialists and they are suggesting IVF also. I have plans to go to Thailand in August/ Spt to try at the Superior Art Clinic. I am first heading on a vacation and trying to just enjoy life again. I am sure it will be an emotional roller coaster. Thanks again gals for the support and advice. If everyone new just how much a few kind words does for someone else. Cheers, Kerri
