Hi all. Just a note to ask how everyone feels about the 4-D ultrasound places. Before I go out and buy any pink, I want to be sure of the sex of my baby.

Do you think they are safe? It will cost about $100 where I live. I had my 20 week ultrasound and saw the three lines myself. I still want one more confirmation on the sex of the baby and to hear about anyone's experience with one.

I had one at about 32 weeks.  I had already known he was a boy and the 3D confirmed it. I didn't tell her what I knew before she told me what he was!  I think after 20 weeks, you're pretty safe.  The one I went to had 2D also that we checked out.  I think 3D is amazing!  GL!

I think they're great, but I personally wouldn't pay for one before 26weeks.  They're great for bonding and you get some really good photo's of chubby baby without being squashed between about 26-29weeks.  Before that baby looks a bit alien like, and after that it looks very squashed and you can't see details as well as you can around 28weeks!

For gender related questions I would go in as soon as possible.  They will use 2d to give you gender shots.  The bigger the baby is the harder to see the goods.  I went in at 16 weeks for a gender shot with this babe, but with my DD I went in at about 23 weeks for confirmation....like you want.  They are safe and lots of fun.  Good luck.

If your not sure i would do it just to put your mind to ease. I went to a private scan at 17 weeks. This pregnancy i have had a total of 4 ultrasounds so far and i am now positive with no doubt in my mind that he is a boy! So do whatever helps ease your mind.
