I was forced to find the gender

     Hi all. Remember me?

I got pregnant last August after so many years of trying. I was determined to not to find the gender. I have a boy already and was happy to take whatever. During my U/s exam around 20th week, my hubby suddenly pressed upon the tech to find the gender. I was simply taken aback. The tech finally said about 80% sure it 'may be a boy'. She looked around for about five minutes but could not improve her verdict. Now we were in limbo, kinda 'half baked' you know.

We remembered we had a free test offer from urobiologics, and thought that would serve the purpose. They were so happy to get my call and within a week confirmed the boy report.  I'm glad it is over but I didn't like the way hubby acted because for about 10 days I was sleepless. Well in a way it ended well and we can work on a name now.

    I'll be back in June.

I still would only trust the 80% from the tech.  I also did a blood gender test and got a boy result, even though I had a girl.

Chloe, this is not the blood gender test. I knew already that blood DNA test is a flip.

Urobiologics offers a urine gender test and these days they are doing wonders. I didn't tell them anything about our experience with u/s so their boy report sets us pretty right. The point I was making was that even tough I was determined not to know the gender, sometimes the temptation to know strikes men more than us. So it was good that I had a free standing offer for a free test which I was not considering either. You never know who can come handy.

from what i understand, the urine gender tests are no more accurate than the dna test. perhaps i have missed some advances.

either way, congrats!! cant wait to hear about your precious baby!

If they haven't been able to make a gender test successful with blood, how can they do it with urine?  It doesn't really make sense.

Congrats on your new addition!!Hugs Bear

I believe it would be cheaper and more reliable to just go get a gender ultrasound at one of those fetophoto places.  I think it is only 99$ where as this test your taking about it a lot more
