    Keep in mind this nursery is now 4 1/2 years old and on it's second go-round!  It took me months to paint the mural - I'm sure being pregnant w/ zero energy had nothing to do with it!  I always knew I wanted a Noah's Ark nursery... Just didn't expect to use it twice with two boys!  But, I have to admit... the one big reason I was glad to have boy #2 was that I could use the room again.  I put a lot of heart and soul into it.  We just tweaked it by rearranging a bit and adding Connor's name.  This is one thing I don't look forward to leaving behind when we move to the new house.  And I hate that Connor won't remember it.  Both boys have had just joy from it - naming the animals on the wall, making their sounds, etc.

    This is really a crappy pic, but I was trying to emphasize the stained glass.  Bill knew I always wanted our babies to have a NA nursery, and he bought that stained glass for our first Christmas.  Who knew it would be 6 years before we got to put it up!!!

    I traced most of it from an overhead I made from the cover of this book:

    However, because of the way it cut off some of the animals, I had to change a couple of things and freehand a few pieces.  But, I mostly traced it.  It was the actual paining that took a long time because I did a lot of mixing colors and tried to make the boat and Noah look as real as possible.  You can't tell, but there are actual lines in the boat like wood grain on individual planks and you can see strands of gray hair in Noah's white beard!

    WOW Carey that is fantastic!! Well done! I’m not artistic but I wish I was! I can’t wait to see your boy’s rooms in your new house. Do you have any plans for their new rooms yet??

    DS1 also had a Noah's Ark nursery, and DS2 used the same bedding & had all the same pieces, though i tried to mix it up a bit!  did u ever see the Noah's Ark bedding set from BRU, by Kidsline??  i got it in 2001, did you have a Noah's Ark bedding, i'm sure?? 

    i LOVE Noah's Ark stuff!!  but i'm of course hoping to have a GIRLY room next!!!
