OH, my DH and I have never agreed on this subject either. With my first I was so determined to name him what I wanted that I told the nurse to write the name I liked as soon as he was born. Then I tell my DH that we agreed on that name. Ofcourse he never remember we agreed on anything but I somehow convince him either way.
BUT, when we were naming our daughter I told him he could have first choice. He chose Brianna. I don't like it, it's a tongue twister for me,a nd way too common but whatever, I agreed. About two weeks before we went to get her I had her room painted with mural and all. I'm big on personalizing my kids things so I ofcourse had her name written on the wall. I left to do groceries. When I came back, the guy had painted her name on the wall, he wrote B-R-E-A-N-A. I told the guy he had spelled it wrong and he said my DH had spelled it for him! I said IMPOSSIBLE, he chose the name himself. Then he showed me the little piece of paper which read Breana, in my husband's writing. It's still hilarious. We left it just like that. It was destiny.
SO we call her Brianna but the writing of her name reads BREENA!!
I'm so glad I named the boys myself! I will certainly be naming the next.
