    hospital bag

So, I still have yet to get my hospital bag togehter.  But I am really trying to remember all of the things I want to bring.  Here is my list so far.  Jump in if you guys can think of things you just can't go without.  (I know a lot more this time then I did with my first!)

-my own undies (I'm not a fan of the hospital things they say are undies lol)

    -clothes

-snacks (I was so hungry and a lot of times didn't have enough food around.  And anything is better then hospital food)

-boppy (I totally forgot this the first time!)

    -baby clothes

    -my hypnobabies stuff

    -camera

This was my first thought and I also learned my lesson after pg#1.  I did not bring underwear and wore what they gave me which was basically netting and elastic.  Well, I'm not a skinny girl especially after having a baby and the elastic dug right into my hips and butt.  By the time I got out of the hospital and got home, I literally had bleeding cuts that burned.  The cuts hurt worse than my c-section scar!  Never again!

You may also want to bring some sort of entertainment.  A book maybe?  Crosswords?

If you're giving birth vaginally, one of those hand massagers would be nice for DH to use on your back during contractions (non-electric kind).

    Re: hospital bag

One thing I don't want to forget next time is a big fat comfy pillow with my own pillow case for sitting around in bed, I hated the hospitals dinky pillows, and wanted my own funky pillow case too! I suppose makeup isn't a bad idea, because I didn't take any last time, and looked like a reck in all the pics, although that might be unavoidable anyway!!! As a matter of fact, I had no hospital bag last time,, because I went into premature labor, and went into the hospital thinking they would send me home, this time I will be religious abut my " suitcase" !! ;-) if you have long hair, scrunchies are a must, and really comfy nursing bras, I only had the sports bra that I initially came into the hospital with because my dh is too incompitent to look through my bra drawer!!! Also if you are not sure how big the baby is going to be, bring clothes in several sizes, I bought all newborn clothes, and even though he was almost 7 pounds, he was so scrawny he had to wear preemie, and I didn't have any, then I told my best friend thta she better buy preemie clothes because newborn will be too big, and her dd was ony a couple ounces more than ds but was chorter and chunkier and she didn't fit in preemie and wore newborn!!!!

    Re: hospital bag

I think it's crazy how oposite I am of everyone about how I LOVE those stretchy net underwear the hospital gives you. I had so much blood gush each time I got up that it was nice to not bleed over into my own unders! I also thought they were pretty darn comfortable. Now that I'm having DD in a different hospital than I did Ds1 and 2, I hope this hospital's aren't so different and suck! I am taking my own extras just in-case.

My bag is not ready yet either because some of the things I want to take either won't fit in the bag (because I haven't yet switched to a larger bag) or they are things I use daily and can't pack away and do without.

I thought about the whole baby clothes in different sizes, but I figure if DD is super small either I will roll up the pants, or have DH or my sister pick up something premi before we leave the hospital. But here in Phoenix Az it is very likely that it will be warm enough that she will only be wearing a onesi home from the hospital.

Also we haven't even tried figuring out the car seat yet, to make sure it is buckled so we can bring her home after she's born. That is something we gotta get on! Also haven't tried the electronic crib light and vibrating soother that her bassinete came with (we should try it out to make sure it works before the return period ends, yikes!).
