Hi Ladies,

I am trying to sway for a girl and have been taking calcium, magnesium and cranberry tablets plus trying to follow the diet. I have been doing this for 2 weeks but my pH level has increased more alkaline not decreased. Just wondering should I continue to take the supplements. I read somewhere you don't need to do both diet and supplements.

 Hoping someone can help me....

I did both for 6 mos before attempting...I took the calcium mag cran and Folic acid also Lydia pinkhams formula ; has a ph of 2 so very effective for lowering ph..I drank cran juice always also drank anything w aspartame did the foods for the most part..check your tap water minw had a ph of 9 do I avoided that..I used rePHreash when ttc it balances your ph...I also skipped nbreakfast..sways girl..increased my cardio at the gym..it took me 6 mos to get my ph down and to stay down I cafe fully monitored it all the time... I have 5 DSs do this really was my last hope for dd.. I have no idea what worked the best for me all I know is something worked expecting dd in oct. GL you just need to find the right way to lower your ph that works for you..

The diet and supplements aren't just for pH - they also effect egg polarity, cm mineral content, and hormones.  So yes, for a strong girl sway, it's still important to do diet and supplements.  You can experiment with replens, rephresh, vinegar or lime douche (or tampon) to see if any of those help with your pH.  Also, what method are you using to check pH?  I only had the strips and had trouble getting enough cm to get a good reading from them.

Also, it can take up to 6 weeks for your body's pH to change (which is why it's recommended to do for at least 6 weeks before ttc).

Thanks tadtam21 and jediepgrl, it is good to know what I am doing is correct. I think I needed some encouragement to continue. In regards to testing my pH I have test strips and am testing urine not CM. Should I be testing CM instead?

I tried to find Lydia pinkhams formula but can't seem to find it. I am in Australia and can't seem to find it here. Also I will test my tap water, as I am drinking heaps more water so that may have something to do with it.

Can I ask a question, did you both using the timing method as well. BDing 3 days before O for a girl?

Also what type of drinks did you drink with aspartame in them? I use to drink a lot of diet coke but stopped that as I thought it swayed boy.

I technically used cut off of 3 days ...bd 8 days prior..then was at it agein on O at the end...the Lydia Pinkham is on amazon...and I drank diet coke recommended for girl sway and Chrystal light an tons of cran/pomergranite juice...Also testing cm tells u if your ph is good around the cervix were it counts...I'd stick cm

I used a Hanna digital ph reader but I read you can use the stripes by placing it on the tip of your finger and inserting it till you hit your cervix if you can't collect enough cm..

I am in Australia too and I have just bought the recommended Hanna meter from ebay.  Am awaiting its arrival so can't comment on it as yet.  there are a couple of options but there is a white skinny one which I think tests smaller samples.

I am drinking Crystal Light too.  Also bought that on ebay from US.  The Raspberry Ice flavour is really nice.  I didn't like the Pink Lemonade too much - a bit sour (but I have a huge sweet tooth).  The postage is a bit steep but if you buy enough of them it will be worth it.  I think IG recommends you drink at least 3 sachets per day.

Can anyone tell me why chocolate isn't good.  Is it because of the high calories?  I have given up coffee (I LOVED my coffee) but am really struggling with chocolate.

Yes, you need to test cm as your urine pH won't change much at all even with diet and supplements.  I had trouble getting enough cm to test on the pH strips because the diet made me so very dry.  So, I used an applicator of replens a few days before O and then a fingertip each day for the next few days and didn't worry about pH after that.  Also took cranberry up until I thought I O'ed. I drank 2 quarts + of crystal light per day (at least 1 pitcher) during the 6 weeks before we dtd, and continued with that up until I got my bfp.  My timing got all messed up because I O'ed late, so unfortunately I'm not a good example to follow for that :(  You should avoid caffeine, but some people have had good luck drinking diet sprite (although the carbonation can interfere with calcium absorbtion, so you need to decide what will work for you).

I don't think you are suppose to have chocolate. I have been able to give up chocolate but not coffee. I am having one a day in the morning, so I hope that is OK.

Does anyone know about tinned tuna? I usually eat it for lunch so wanted to know if that was OK.

Also didn't know diet coke was OK? Is the correct.

Going to get on eBay today to buy some crystal light and a digital pH reader. Thanks for all the replys.

Yes diet coke is okay ...I only remember cuz I hate soda but I sucked it up an got specifically diet coke for girl sway.. It's the aspartame but only certain drinks r more affective like the Chrystal light and walmarts version of Chrystal light is affective w aspartame too not sure about canned tuna depends on sodium content I just simply avoided sodium when in doubt

I did some research on chocolate and it is actually not alkaline but I think it will be the high calorie content that excludes it.

I also read that diet coke is okay as is diet lemonade.  I won't be able to fit that in with all the milk, cranberry juice, Crystal Light I will be drinking.

Does anyone know about cooking oil (olive oil, butter) etc.

I agree w choc research...the act of loosing weight sways girl..has to do a the way we burn calories and choc may not help calorie wise !! Butter I stayed away from cuz of salt content I stuck to olive oil!! I remember most the girl diets very bland!! You can use applesauce too as flavoring..
