Failed GIRL sway, does it really work?

I am the proud mother of two amazing boys that I absolutely adore, ages 7 & 5. I am currently 16 weeks pregnant and found via u/s last week from my OB that I am expecting another boy. The emotions one feels after this news are confusing. On one hand you are happy about the healthy baby boy that you are creating knowing that you will love him so much, but on the other your heart is breaking for the baby girl you so desperately long for. To add to it, I found out yesterday that my SIL is expecting a girl. I am so happy for them, but soooooooo jealous. Here is the reason for my post...my DH and I "swayed" girl this time and we felt pretty confident that we did enough to increase our chances. 1. BD'd approx. 2.5 days before O. 2. I took cranberry supplements 3. Missionary and shallow release (wow TMI) 4. I was aware of the girl diet, and did a few things. Didn't realize how important is was and didn't check mine or DH ph. I read Dr. Shettles book and felt like I did what was necessary. I am finding here that some don't believe his methods. So in the future, if we choose to try again. Should I through caution to the wind and just go for it, or are there a few key things I should try to do (i.e. Check PH)? Nothing too extreme, preferably. Thank you so much for your help!!

Congrats on you son first an foremost! Three boys is amazing! Next did u read the 7 sway factors? I would recommend u do all 7 if u do a future attempt. Also ph is a main sway factor. We swayed with this baby and are expecting a girl after 3 boys - was it the sway? I dunno only God knows IMO- however I think we get what we r meant to have.

I haven't been on hear for quite a while but thought I'd come back. I just found out I'm having a girl in Nov after 5 boys and 1 girl. My last 3 were boys and I was going to try to sway. I fully believe Ph is the main contributing factor. Last Nov I used a store bought vinegar douche about 3 times and then my husband said he didn't really want to try for another one right now. In Feb without trying I became pregnant. I was so certain it was going to be another boy but during my ultrasound was overjoyed to learn I was having a girl. I don't know if the douching in Nov was the reason. I believe it was and my body hadn't returned to it's normal Ph level yet when I got pregnant. If it wasn't the douching then it was just pure luck cause my body was meant to have boys and I wish that same luck on evryone else trying for a certain gender. I have felt the dissapointment but also the joy and I wish the best for you=)

Congrats on your healthy baby boy!  If you do sway again though, I would consider trying O+12 over the 2.5 day cutt-off.  It's possible to conceive a girl with this cut-off, but you do have to consistently check ph to ensure that your remaining low for the entire time, otherwise it is actually boy territory (regardless of what Shettles says).  When I swayed girl, I checked ph like crazy and did a lime tampon before and after dtd to stay low. GL!

I am a total believer in biorhythms and moon signs. I conceived #4 during a Strong girl bio and Female moon sign, but on a BLUE physical critical day and it's another boy.

DS3 was conceived on a BLUE critical day too..   and Strong boy bio, and Male moon sign.  DS1 and DS2 were also conceived in Male moon signs.

congrats on a healthy baby boy!! 3 of a kind is amazing, you will have the 3 musketeers once he gets here. please don't blame yourself. most of us have failed sways. i've seen the best sways fail, mine included. first ask yourself if you are ok with 4 boys? if you can honestly answer yes then sway as hard as you can but come to terms with it being a boy before you find out the gender. i hate to see ladies heartbroken. if you feel so strongly about a girl you may want to think about high tech in the future, or adoption. its really the only way to 100% get a girl. i wish i could give you some advice but we swayed boy every time, ironically enough this time i swayed girl. although i like to think maybe dh had alot to do with it. he always refused to sway in the past saying it was silly, this time he did a boy lifestyle and i was in girly lifestyle. we got a boy! good luck

I did extreme swaying with my boys to conceive a girl. It sadly didn't work for me. I didn't try as hard this time around and I am now 20 weeks pregnant with a little girl. Things I did differently this time around was 1) have sex a couple of hours before ovulation 2) I was on a very low calorie diet 3) had sex at night 4) orgasm and deep penetration. I really thought we were going to have another boy. Congratulations on your baby boy :)

Im currently swaying for a girl, but I know I have to be realistic and not put all my hopes on a girl. We can all only do the best we can, nothing is 100% but at least you can say you had a good go! I had v bad GD with my little boy (as my husband has 3 boys!!) but I would not change him for the world. I don't know if all the 'theories' work but at worst its a change of life style for a few months and at best its a fun experiance (I say thinking about my OH helping me lime douche :/ and us jumping in and out of ridiculously hot baths before DTD!!) And either way you get a brand new baby at the end of it!!

My line of thinking is - I want a baby!! If its a girl its a bonus.

!!Congratulations on your baby boy!!

After 5 boys I Definately believe swaying helped me conceive my Dd...I focused mostly on ph I felt it was the most important factor in the scheme of things..

I think swaying really works if you really give it all. We swayed for a girl after 5 beautiful boys and now we are expecting our little princess:-) So don't give up your hope and dreams.

Swaying works to some extend. We can sway the odds. That does not mean success. I swayed twice (girl) and got one girl and one boy. I still believe in swaying, but thats all it is, a sway. The rest is fate, luck, destiny  -  whatever you believe in....

 Congratulations on your son x

oh, in addition: I have swayed twice and would definitely sway again. However, here is what I would concentrate on, the LE diet (low everything diet, google it - suggests way more success than the high cal/mag theory), skip breakfast and try to keep blood sugar levels really low, ideally by having large gaps between meals, loose weight while ttcing, reduce stress. And trying not to think of swaying to reduce pressure. This is what I would concentrate on! and just get on with life.

I would NOT check ph again as it put me under stress - with my dd I didnt know much about swaying which was just right... this time I made a science of it, which must have put my hormonal levels into male zone..... I would not bother with timing apart from trying to leave immediately before ovulation away. If required use sylk, if no lube required, leave it away. Mucus reducing measurements such as antihistamine. I conceived a girl and a boy swaying with abstinence, o+12 etc. my sway this time was way, way better and adhering to all 7 factors to extreme measurements and it was NOT successful. My haphazard sway some years ago for my dd was successful however...

We swayed for a girl and got ds3. I didn't sway, or know about seating with our first 2. I honestly assumed I'd have a BGB.. So imagine my surprise when ds2 was born.. I had awful gd :( so for our third I found this site and I read shettes book. I thought the diet made a lot of sense since I never eat diary. So we followed it (dh too) and my period got all out of whack going from every 28 days to 24 then 32 days etc. so I couldn't do a cut off. I checked ph obsessively, made dh take hot baths etc, and went for o+12 after reading all the success stories here. We had ds3. I truly believe it was all the stress over the sway factors in my case. I felt super stressed out over getting it right.

I had a great sway with high ph, egg whites, timing, full moon, blue bio rhythms, praying hope faith... I'm pg with dd3, and I'm happy because although I had a really great wonderful full on sway I knew it wast 100%. I'm gonna go with what I thought all along and say it bumps odds up to 60/40, oh and DH swayed with me. However, in the scheme of things with all my body altering and baking soda and raw EW in the hoo haa I'm lucky baby is healthy and I'm not injured. I'm lucky and feel blessed but had to try!
