DS#1: 10 hr labor, 1 hr pushing. Augmented with pitocin. He was sunny-side up and OB had to use vacuum & do an episiotomy.
DS#2: 18 hr labor, 30 min pushing. Full induction 5 days early. Had back labor with him. My OB actually apologized to me for it taking 8 hrs longer than my 1st. LOL
DS#3: Have yet to see. ;o) Hopefully he just "falls" out like I hear so often of 3rd babies in general. He will be my 1st homebirth natural baby.
I wouldn't describe either labor as especially hard. 2nd was longer because my body just wasn't ready and the contractions were worse because of all the pitocin. I don't have any completely natural labors because both were in the hospital.
I will add though that when I told my midwife that both of my boys were in "fetal distress" at the end of my labors, esp during pushing, that she said boys are more "fragile" during labor and are more likely than girls to go into fetal distress. I still attribute it to the pitocin putting that stress on them, but I thought this was very interesting.
