I thought once the baby's born, my GD would disappear. My newborn is now 7 weeks, my feeling is getting worse and worse. Most people who had GD say that 'once you have your baby, you just fall in love with the baby...' It didn't work for me :( Is there anyone who feels the same as I do?

It took me a good year after my second son to really get over my GD and bond with him. He was fussy, colicy, and couldn't handle any stimulation. We were stuck in the house for 9 full months (literally-he would scream until he was purple if we left the house) after he was born. I had such a hard time bonding with him!! It does get better but it can take time. Hang in there!

I felt the same way as you orange and turned out to have postpartum. Check in with your dr and see if maybe you have it too. I felt overwhelmed and did not connect with the baby at all. After some time and medication I began to feel better. Remember you just went through birth and it's a big change and your hormones are all over the place too. I still really want a DD but I sincerely LOVE my DS and couldn't imagine my life without him in it. It just took me a bit to figure it out.

Like one of the pervious posters said, I would chat to your doctor. Could be related to PND.

Just as a bit of ofside info - I have 2 children and with my first it took a long time to bond. Seriously like over a year. She was a very difficult baby and I ended up with PND.

Please get yourself checked out x
