anyone told boy at 13w by a trained tech and it turned out to be a girl?

hi ladies, so yesterday at nuchal scan, my trained tech who was never wrong at guessing gender with my daughters, told me that it looked like a boy, he was sure at 75% (he always reminds me that his guesses are 75% correct at this stage, said same that for my DDs also). DH thinks tech was less affirmative than with the girls; baby was in a tricky position. But tech is an expert and would not venture a guess just like that. But tech did say that in one case out of 4, such a nub turns out to be a girl. So thats the theory. In reality, did many of you got told boy at nuchal scan by a trained tech and then it was wrong?? i trust my tech very much but dont want to be too excited; yesterday i was ready to hear girl, prepared myself mentally, wrote in all these posts why i would be blessed with a third girl... and now i asked for a gender prediction from the tech, i was thrilled to hear what i thought would never hear, and now i am so scared to lose it all in 2 weeks... thanks for your replies ladies! just wanted to wish you luck sweetie. i was never told any gender that early the earliest i heard was 15-16 weeks. not sure i really trust anything before then however if you tech is experienced and knows the nub theory i would say you have pretty good odds. i was told dd1 was a boy at 35 weeks but only because there was no room and she was all squished up in there. only a few more weeks until you know for sure though. boys are a blessing but my dd3 stole my heart and i wouldn't trade her for a million boys.

you are sweet and i hope baby michael will arrive at late at possible. I am/was ready for DD3. I need not be too excited. but of course, i would not like to be in the position of tech saying it looked girly and praying that the 25% chance apply! i am on the lucky side. But if it tuns out girl, i will adore her. the waiting is a difficult time. DH wanted to be team green and i couldnt stand not knowing , especially because i was so happy about my sway. But maybe he was ight, we should have waited at leasz for the 15w scan.

i did the same thing. i really wanted to be team green too, this time i really didn't care but didn't want to have my hopes crushed finding out it was an 8th girl. i debated for a long time but as nice of a surprise dd1 was, she had no clothes. everyone bought me yellow because it was gender nuteral . she had jaundice and thats just cruel to put a yellow baby in a yellow outfit. and its harder to buy baby clothes when you have children screaming and fighting in the store. so im glad i found out this time. i don't have much blue dust but if i have any left over its yours.

My first boy was a girl at 12 wks. My second boy was a boy at 12 wks. My 1st girl was a boy at 12 wks. Scans with the same doctor.

I had all my kids genders confirmed (correctly) at their nuchal scan.

thank you nini, i know my tech is trained but i am so scared to be in this small percentage of tricky nubs and errors... 2 more weeks until i know!

bambino I got told girl at my 14 week scan for my three pregnancies, they were right each time. I think you got your little boy! 75% is better than 50/50, I'll X my fingers for you, hopefully your little one is a shy little boy instead of a well endowed little girl LOL (I know you'd love her just the same). GL!

I was told correctly all the time. The gender scan for my first daughter was at 16 weeks and I thought its too early and could be wrong but the technican said if its less than 15 weeks, its too soon, however things change dramatically after 15 weeks so chances are that technicians are often correct if the scan is after 15-16 weeks.
One of my friend was told girl in 14 weeks and then it was actually a boy when she found in 20 weeks.
Still hoping you get what you wish for...

i am trying to find confort in the fact that the experts here, nicolerh, charlicats, coldwater, are very often right, so my tech should be also, right? i cant wait for confirmation in 2 weeks

I was told my 13 week scan looked "boyish" by a technician used for high risk pregnancies. At 20 weeks it was so obviously a girl. (and still is over a year later) Don't get too stressed this early in the game.
