maybe a boy.... hoping for a girl...

 I am 21 weeks pregnant with my 3rd baby. My first 2 were boys, and I had hoped they were both girls, but still had the possibility of #3 being a girl, so I didn't take the disappointment as hard.

 I had my 20w u/s last week. The doctor himself the u/s, but after doing so digging, I foudn out he rarely does them, and his machine is about 15-20 years old. The most he could say about the heart was that is looks like it has 2 sides (my first was born with a heart defect, so this is kind of important info for us)

 After looking for about 5 minutes, he says, well, I think I am about 80% sure it is a boy, there is something between the legs, but it could be cord. He tried to show us, but coudn't get a very good angle, one second there was nothing, the next second we saw a white blob between the legs, then it was gone again. 

I am in the process of trying to get referred out to a specialist for the follow up u/s the end of the month.If not though, then I will have an appointment with the same doc, on the same machine.

Is there much of a chance he was wrong? I had my heart set on a girl, this is our last baby. I swayed for a girl with diet and suppliments. The chinese gender calendar said boy, and it also said my boys were girls. I realize this isn't all that accurate, but it gave me hope that it would be wrong again! haha! Cheri22 told me it was a girl. I have been so sick with this pregnancy, even this week I am still throwing up a bit. I have never had morning sickness like this before. 

I am really trying to not hope that he was wrong, but I can't help it. DH is not convinced it is a boy, and my gut has been telling me girl. Even with my boys, before I found out they were boys, I was calling them he - this time, I have referred to it as she a lot.

I don't see any gender clues in any of your pics. Sorry, I hope you get another scan and find out its your girl.

I can't tell but hopefully someone experieced will see something on these. I so hope you get your girl! Sending you all my pink dust!

I wouldn't put too much stock in his guess.  With such old equipment, and not having a trained US tech, and the fact that even he said it was only 80% I'd say you still have a good chance that he was wrong.  I hope you are able to get in for a better US soon.

Agreed, I think between the machines being so old and him only saying 80% you still have a chance to hear girl. I will tell you though that I swayed- diet supplements timing etc- I was so sick for my first trimester and I never was with ds1 or ds2... So I just "knew" this would be our girl- all the owt calendars etc said girl too- but we are having ds3 in a couple weeks :(.. I am really looking forward to meeting him, but still wrapping my head around not having a daughter too. The first few weeks after finding out were really hard, but it's gotten much easier to accept that this is another boy. Hope you hear girl, but if you hear boy I think having the time to process will help for sure. GL!!!

 well, I tried getting a referal for a maternal fetal medicine docotr since my first was born with a heart defect and I have high BP - I saw one with my second pregnancy for these reasons, and they won't write me the referral, so now we jsut have to hope baby will be big enough in a few weeks to get better pics and I hope a better guess.
