Can gender be determined from profile shot at 17 wk 6 d?

Yes, a good profile shot can give confirmation of either gender at 17-18 weeks. A girl may still show a small, downward-pointing protrusion from this angle, but a penis will stick straight out at a 90-degree or greater angle relative to the spine. I actually wish more people used these shots at this gestation, since a perfect mid-sagittal shot is nearly impossible to mistake! 

Thank you so much ColdWater. Thats what I figured. I have 3 boys but the techs have never looked at the angle before to tell, but at the same time, we always got perfect potty shots. This baby was so stubborn and wouldnt sit still. Plus the cord was interfering. Now I feel A LOT more confident that I'm actually having a baby girl.

I am in denial. I always believed I was going to have another boy. And we had such a hard time finding out the sex that it adds to the denial. For two ultrasounds, the cord was tucked between the legs and on the third ultrasound, it took the tech almost an hour to get the cord out of the shot and for the baby to open her legs. My baby girl must be modest lol.
