TTC a girl in Summer or Fall 2012

Gianna welcome! I am so sorry for your loss I cannot even imagine what you are going through. We are all here to help with your next sway so good luck :) Aidansmommy that is so crazy about the hairlines I have never heard that. I just looked at my 8 yr old's (poor kid is home with pink eye) and his is pointed so doesn't look like that works for me! Those things are fun but have never been accurate for me. My last baby was supposed to be a girl according to just about every "test" I could find so I was so disappointed when it was a boy. I got my hopes up too high :( Ponytails so glad to see you on here and I know you are feeling discouraged with just the 1 attempt. I am 36 so I too am nervous with just trying the 1 time but it will be so worth it for our girls right? I know myself that although I would love to get pg right away I would rather try for a year and get a girl than have another boy right away. We are here for support if you need it :) So still no + OPK for me. I am praying my cycle will not be extra long like last month I just wanna get this attempt over with so I can relax! I have been using Rephresh and was planning on using it as a lube with BD but does it lower enough do you think? The lowest my cm has been was around 5 so that concerns me. I may try some lime or something else after bd just to be safe. Also I was planning on doing FR a couple times after + OPK (outside of Vj of course) before O+12 attempt. Do you think that's a good thing to do? I was wanting to just abstain but it's been way too long since DH last released (or so he says lol). Too much to think about!!

Welcome Gianna... I am so glad you have joined us...my heart was so sad reading your post and then so amazed that you are on here ready to go already... I am not sure I would be as strong.  Best wishes to you and like Kats wrote above... we are all here for you for your next sway!!  Did you do anything else besides timing to get your daughter?

Kats... when is your attempt?  I didn't realize you were attempting this month too!...there are a few of us I'd say!!   I wanted to chime in on your question about rephresh... I think that won't lower your Ph much beyond 5 or so, if I remember correctly from the info in the faq.  I think it said it's a reactive lube...so will only go as low as your ph is... someone correct me if I am wrong.  But, I purposely chose replens first because I knew I could use the lower Ph lube!  We are planning to use Sylk for a lube during BD and then I am going to use replens earlier in the day, before attempt and then a tiny bit as needed in the days after before O (I am doing a cut-off).  I know others are planning on using lime... so that may be an option as well.  I never tried that since the replens has seemed to lower mine pretty well so far.  Best wishes to you!!!

Thanks Booey there has been so much confusion over the douches it's hard to keep them all straight! I chose Refresh cause I couldn't find Sylk in the store and heard that the Replens should not be used after BD and I didn't want to buy multiple items. But I have a hard time keeping my ph down so I may try a lime douche or something else after my O+12 attempt. I am not really sure exactly when my attempt is going to be! My March cycle was around 30 days and last month was 42 days so I am not sure when I will be ovulating! I have been having all the symptoms like high, soft cervix and watery cm but no + OPK yet! I hate not knowing when it will happen. But that's why I am not doing cut off. Now I just need to figure out how to get dh a low sperm count before dtd.

Hi ladies......Wait you cant use Replens??? I read many attempts with Replens before Bding and after. I used it up until my attempt and after my attempt when needed. It has brought my ph down nicely. It brings it down just to the perfect spot for me with just a finger tip. Well, if I dont get pregnant then we will know it doesn't work. Why can't you use it?? What does it say.

The FAQ says not to use Replens after BD. I imagine it has the chance to kill off sperm because the Ph is so low. I am going to go hack a few pages in this thread to read more regarding the different douches as this was a recent topic.

Hey girls..I was also planning on using rephresh.. but my friend who has swayed was telling me that rephresh may not lower enough if you like me with the ph being in the 5's... She said to do replens about 30 min before your attempt..it should keep it down..Ive been working with it and it seems to have kept mine down for almost 2 days, around that 4.5 mark..and Im hoping to do O+12 so I hope it works... I was planning on having DH abstain..but which one sways more girl FR or abstaining? And what is considered "FR" , how many, is too many?

Mountain Views..I think you posted the moon phase link right? Ive been going back through the posts and can't find it..Id like to put it on my computer as favorites..can you re-post,or tell me the website? Ive been searching Moon phase but none of them have the info of the site you posted!

Hey girls...

I think with replens, they say not to use it right after BD because the Ph is too low and could possibly kill the sperm.  But yes, you are right that many attempts did mention that they used it before and after... but just a tiny bit after...and I think if you wait a bit (1/2-1 hour or more after BD) I think it's better as well.  I am hoping that for me, by using it early in the day (before attempt at night) that it will lower it and help keep it low until a couple hours after BD and then if needed, I will use just a tiny bit at the VJ entrance.  The replens has lowered my Ph nicely as well.. for 2-3 days in the past!...however I know that after I DTD, my Ph goes up quite a bit really fast...so hoping that I can keep it under control by doing those few things.

Well maybe I should have bought the Replens then cause my ph is around 6 normally and after DTD it is pretty high.  I really just don't want to spend the money though but I will if I have to.  What about using Rephresh as a lube for DTD and then using lime douche afterward, would that be similar to using the Replens?  I just really want to get this sway over with, this is driving me crazy!  As far as FR vs. abstainance I am not sure which is better, it probably varies with who you ask lol.  I was going to do abstainance cause with all 3 of my boys we were DTD all the time but now it's been too long so I guess we need to have some fresh sperm.  So I am going to copy Ponytails sway and do FR twice in the 24 period prior to DTD then the 3rd will be our attempt.  Not really sure about it but I am not sure what other options there are.  Here is the website for the moons  http://www.lunarium.co.uk/calendar/universal.jsp.  You may have to change the settings to where you are cause I changed it to mine and saved it in my bookmarks.  You only have around a 3 day period for each sign so it's really chance if your conception falls under the girl moon.  Not knowing when the heck I am going to O, I have no idea what moon it will be.  Not sure if I would still DTD or not if it's a boy moon.  What about all of you?  Anyway thanks ladies for all your help as always!

Hi ladies....I loved Replens....it worked so well with me. I used it before dtd 10 mins before and then when I used it 5 mins after bding I did NOT put it way up inside me....I only put a little bit at the entrance of my vj. After the 4 hr mark I put some higher up inside me but not too too high but high enough. Supposedly that after the 4 hrs the sperm are in the fallopian tubes or something like that so you can put whatever you are doing up inside you. If you do FR, just make sure that its 2 attempts within 12-24 hr period and have DH release not inside you then do a third attempt within that same period but release inside you. I know with my boys we did multiple attempts inside me.....which creates more sperm the could be boys. But if you do FR with releasing outside of you and then an attempt releasing just that one time inside you it lowers sperm count. That's what they say!! That's what I ended up doing! Never done one attempt, so might not have worked for me but I am 38 and I guess they say I may have a harder time getting pregnant. I did 2 months of 0+12 and unsuccessful so we shall see what a cut off does.

Kat thanks for that link and the info!! It seems like I have been reading these sway pages over and over(well I have,lol) for over a year now..but now that the time is getting close Im getting nervous so Im second guessing myself!

Ponytails.. it sounds like you had a good sway! Congrats and Im praying there is a baby waiting for you to find out shes in there soon! Were you worried about keeping your PH down for those 3-4 days after your attempt? I was going to try O+12 b/c I worry that if it spikes and I dont catch it in time then it would deff be a boy for us,lol.. Also, I thought by putting the replens in sooner after you dtd, or something to lower your ph while the swimmers were in there..if I wait until that 4 hr mark and they are already up there, would that even help? I would like to do abstainence since with our DS2 I got the positive opk during the day and we dtd 2-3 times in the next 24-32 hr period starting that same night..I want to try something different but 1 attempt seems hard, I dont know how many cycles I can get DH to stay on the small amount of supps hes on, and the loose diet hes on(he sneaks things in when Im not looking,lol)

Luvcole I am with you with DH and the loose supps and diet. My DH is only semi cooperating. He occasionally takes the cranberry supps although he will drink cranberry juice, he drinks a lot of milk too but won't cut down on sodium or caffeine. I am doing O+12 as well, mainly cause I don't know when I will O but also to not have to worry about keeping ph down. It's been hard for me. The diet is not fun and I haven't been as good with that as I would have liked. I am hoping that because I am doing other sway factors, I am drinking tons of CL and the fact I am thinner now than with my 3 ds then I have a good shot. 1 attempt doesn't seem like enough to get pg but I told myself I will try a few months before giving in. It's worth it for a girl! Good luck on his month swaying everyone! Hope we end up with BFPs soon!

Hi ladies....correct me if I am wrong please but I don't think that Replens at the VJ after bding will hurt the sperm or the ph. It a vaginal moisturizer anyways...also if you only put it 5 or 10 mins after bding at the VJ entrance with just a finger tip, the sperm have already started their travels. Then after 4 hrs a little farther up since they should be way into the fallopian tubes waiting. I mean people dtd all the time and then go swimming or baths or use other lubes and get pregnant. I think sperm are pretty strong and considering the amount there are, I don't see it being a problem. Now if sperm only had 10 that came or even 100 or 1,000 I wouldn't want to jeopardize it!! But, there are a lot of spermies travelling their way up there!! Its so funny reading all of our attempts from our boys. It sounds all the same!! I dtd even last time with EGS 3 times in my fertile period all with putting the sperm inside me. So, I am so glad I at least tried this one shot deal, which I have never done and did both abstinence and FR within 12-24 hrs. So hopefully got some healthy sperm in there...girls of course and my egg was sitting there in good health with the polarity of the egg geared for an X sperm to fertilize it!!!

Ponytails I think you had a good sway and what you said about the Replens makes sense. It would be the same as using the other low ph douches like lime afterward I would think. I have no idea why the Faq said not to use Replens specifically after BD maybe you could ask Tamara if you are concerned about it. But because of what the faq said I bought Rephresh instead. I plan on using lime cause I don't wanna buy anything else just waiting on the LH surge! Just relax and enjoy your 2ww! You are lucky your sway is over :)

I was actually going to the store to buy rephresh Kat, and my friend texted me and said, "dont buy rephresh, go with replens",lol.. so I did, it seems to keep it low so Im going to try it with that for now..Kat good luck!! I am taking OPK's everyday, and waiting for O... I went to the moon website, and while I was looking at all the signs I completely forgot which signs sway girl!..is it Taurus,Pieces,Scorpio,Cancer,Virgo,Gemini?? Im thinking my O will be sometime between this friday and next tuesday so we will see, The last time we did the dtd was on my birthday(May 20th), so I think that puts us in the boy zone for swimmers, but hes taking LR and the amountof his output has really decreased! One more question..Ponytails maybe you can answer it?..I thought that we wanted to keep our ph really low..(4.0-4.5) for the first 4 hours after dtd...thats when I plan on monitoring it and taking a sudefed 1-2 hrs before BDing, and a 1/2 app full of replens about 30 min. before, then monitoring it, and using a tiny amount of replens at the VJ enterence as needed...but if I wait until after that 4hr mark, and just put it in the entrance then wouldnt the swimmers all be gone up farther , and the replens is virtually useless, or by keeping your ph low in the cervix work its way up into the U, and also helps the swimmers??..Thanks Ladies..Im getting pretty nervous!
