What are your triggers?

I don't think anyone was saying they hate you or want to slap you for having all girls - I think we all understand that everyone's dream family looks different, and just because someone's real family looks like my dream family, it doesn't mean they got what THEY wanted, either. I just sometimes wish I could trade places with the folks who have had all girls and it stings a little bit to see it - just like it stings for folks who wanted a boy to see my signature - and I don't wish you or anyone else any ill.

no no sweetie not you when i first joined about a year ago. some lady was very rude to me and said i deserved to be slapped because i had a house full of girls. i can't remember her name now. she left but i remember it hurt my feelings. i do love my girls i just wanted to experience a little blue like she wanted to experience a little pink.

 Families with BBG or BBBG. No other family makeup bothers me as much. If I have a 5th boy I think BBBBG will bother me.

Hearing someone say "oh she finally got her girl!" The last time I heard this was in reference to Victoria Beckham. I'm still mad at the friend who said it but I think she did realize she put her foot in her mouth so I'm trying to let it go.

And really any comments that are negative about boys. All the stereotypes and stuff or when people ask me if I was just trying for a girl especially when they say it in front of my kdis. Like boys aren't good enough. I'm just tired of the questions and comments period.

 

My biggest trigger right now is my best friend having a girl after two boys and me having my third boy. She will be doing all the stuff with her DD I always dreamed about. It kills me and I can't get myself to talk her. Each time I think of her and her DD I almost start to cry. Fortunately we live far away from eachother right now so I won't have to see her or her DD for a while, but I am the little girls godmother which makes it even harder. For now I'm just waiting to meet my little man and hopefully my GD will dissapear. But sometimes I wonder how I will be feeling in 15 years when she tells me she has been away for the weekend with her DD (just like I do with my mom once a year). I just really hope it won't hurt forever..

The other trigger is my colleague. We are due the same date and have had our laughs about it because we realised we had intercourse the same day (comparing eachother pregnancy journal etc) She is pregnant with her first and found out she is having a girl. I'm bitter, we had a hardcore sway and seriously did everything to get our DD but failed and she gets her DD and does not care because it's her first. 

One to add that just happened. For Easter we are at my grandparents' house. Both uncles and their wives have all girl families. We arrive with our girl and my grandfather says, why can't any of you give us a boy?

When I am in a store such as target, K-Mart, I see a couple with 2 girls and a baby boy or 2 boys and a baby girl.

I just keep saying why them and not me?

When I see more couples with 3 of one gender, I feel better.

3) seeing baby boy clothing at a store

4) walking into Babies R Us and seeing someone register for boy stuff

5) sometimes reading a baby magazine and seeing a picture of a mom with her baby boy

6) seeing a mother with her son, or a father with his son

 Mom to a beautiful baby  2011 and hoping for a baby  one day to complete our family!

 For me it's pretty simple right now, but varies in intensity (it's getting better nowadays): seeing any girl under 5, esp. if I know the family. Or of course, hearing of someone expecting a baby girl. And when I learn, for example, that the parent only wanted girls (boy-hating), it adds a whole new dimension of anger to the whole GD!

 My biggest trigger is seeing a family with two older boys and a baby girl.  Drive me crazy!  We are ttc now cause we want a third child but I feel like I already know I won't have a girl.

This is exactly what triggers my gd :-(

Seeing families with both genders, even if its all girls and one boy or vice versa. This pregnancy I am not even thinking about gender like I did with the last two. Yes I would love a little boy but I do not want to get my hopes up again. I want to enjoy my pregnancy the best I can. It's sad that I could not wait to hear about a friend who was team green announce her pregnancy, I feel ashamed that I was excited that she had her second DS. She is one of those one up you type of people and told every one she was going to have the PP. Oh well in the end she really truly loves her new baby boy.

I would have been just like you - except I would also have been crossing my fingers/seeing the witch doctor to make sure she did NOT get her PP. I hate those kind of people! Serves her right for being so smug!

I have 2 main triggers: 1. Seeing couples with a "pigeon pair" (something I will never have, but only ever wanted). 2. Hearing news of a couple who have just their 2nd child and it is the opposite gender of their first child (meaning they too now have a pigeon pair).
