How can doctors be so careless?

I just got back from the consult with a doctor about Ericsson. I can not believe he has ever gotten anyone pregnant. He doesn't monitor at all. Doesn't use clomid for a female sort. You just tell them when you get your ovulation surge wait till the next day and come in to do the sort. No trigger no nothing! Yes I have had 6 kids but I'm not overly fertile I'm 38 years old what the heck is he thinking? He said you have to do 2 sorts before they will be more aggressive. I'm not willing to go 4 or 5 sorts till they figure out how to get it to take. I am so disappointed. The only other doctor was bad on ivf so I don't know how much better he would be for an iui. What should I do now? I personally think going to him would be flushing money down the toilet.

 wow- that does seem like  a bad practise.  sorry your experinece wasnt more positive.  have you looked into other locations? 

I have looked for hours a day for days and only found those two places. Someone on here mentioned LA which is an hour and half away. I might be able to there but I haven't talked to them yet. There web site doesn't say anything about Ericsson or sorting so I'm not to sure if they do it or not. A friend suggested I ask my ob. I'm not sure if they could help or not but I guess it couldn't hurt to ask.

Have you considered doing IVF?  I really feel like doing Erricson with this doc will just be a waste of time and money . . . it's a lot to consider, but after 6 boys, it might be worth "going all the way."  Wishing you lots of luck with whatever you decide.   

I called another clinic in LA a bit farther than I would have liked to go but they only do female sorts. That's really interesting. You would think they would be good if that's all they did. She said I should call back tomorrow when the lady in the lab was there so I could hear what the odds were and everything. Maybe this doctor being so bad was a good thing. My husband wouldn't have wanted to go so far if he was descent. I'm feeling a bit more hopeful.
