What are the chances of 12w guess being WRONG?

Anyone out there have a tech tell them at 12w it was a girl then turned out to be your boy? My husband and I are trying to hold onto hope that this could be our boy. Tech said if she had to guess, she'd say girl at 12w but in our pics there are no girl or boy parts.

It could still be a boy.  There are plenty of tricky nubs.  Did she say how skilled she was at nub guessing?  

She must have been old fashioned because she laughed at the nub theory. She didn't determine by the nub, she was looking between the legs!

 If she didn't even look at the nub, I wouldn't worry about it.  Even at 14 weeks u/s can be wrong.  At nearly 16 weeks they were still unable to determine the sex of my daughter.

I would say there is still a BIG chance it could still be a boy! In AUstralia where I live they refuse to even mention gender at the 12 week ultrasound as apparently their 'bits' look almost the same at that early stage! I have my fingers and toes crossed for you:) I'm also TTC a boy:)

I'm in a similar situation. At my 13+2 scan my baby's nub appeared flat and in line with the spine (I only glanced it a couple of times). Tech wouldn't even take a guess on gender. I'm really hoping my baby is a boy (a few other things are pointing to boy - placenta location etc) but I won't know for definite until my gender scan in 7 days time. Although I saw a flat nub I can't let go of my dreams for a boy just yet, so please don't give up hope. Plenty of nubs turn out to be the opposite of what they first appear. GL I hope with both get our boys.

Lovemadison, I just wanted to update you and say that our baby's very girly nub at 13+2 has indeed turned out to be a little boy! This was confirmed at our 16w gender scan yesterday! We are over the moon. Please don't give up hope, I remember being so down after my 13 week scan and convinced myself we were having another girl, but no he's all boy. He showed off his 'goods' and everything. Good luck!

I dont really swear by guesses at 12 weeks.. at 16 weeks the nubs are more authentic to believe upon. Have been following too closely the confirmed nubs forums and you'll find out that around 60% of guesses are wrong... check out on ur own.. :)

i was told maybe girl at my 11 week 4 day u/s and im really wanting another lil boy too :( so im trying to hold on to hope that she was wrong the reason she said girl was because she didnt see a scrotum so we will see...

I was told at 11 weeks 6 days by the tech that she was 80% sure it was another girl. I had to have a cvs done because I had a high risk of Down's syndrome. Phoned for the result and thank God it was normal. I said can you confirm its a girl and she said 'no, its a healthy baby boy!' Don't give up hope. The nub is so small that even really experienced tech's can get it wrong. Good luck x
