prayers needed please

I've had to do hospital bedrest before and it is hard, but I can tell how strong you are from your posts! You can do this and little Michael will hang in there! Praying for you both!

Also, all of my kids were born early. My first son was born at 34 weeks with no steroid shots for his lungs. I was told that white males do poorly when born prematurely and to expect him to be in the NICU for at least a couple of weeks. He came into the world screaming, yelling, and completely pink. He came home with me 2 days letter and never went to the NICU. My second son was born at 36 weeks, was completely healthy, and came home from the hospital when I did. My DD was born at 35 weeks, had steroid shots for her lungs and was still in the NICU for 15 days. Those patterns for preemies aren't always true! Granted, your little guy isn't into 34+ weeks but still, the point is that both of my preemie sons did better than my daughter! 

thank you, i love hearing how some of the little premies do just as well as term babies. i know its not always true but it does make me feel so much better. i kinda broke down today but dh was very supportive and said i have stayed 3cm for 4 days now and thats really good. 27 weeks would make me soo happy though.. but dh reminded me its only 7 more days. maybe i can do 7 days but gosh 2 weeks just seems a lifetime away right now.

We were shopping for shoes today, and the sales lady was telling us all about her granddaughter. She was born at 25 weeks, and is now 2 years old. She was one proud granny, and said her granddaughter will have no lasting effects of being a preemie. I am praying for your sweet baby boy, and for you.

I have been praying for you and your little boy, newbaby! Also, I just wanted you to know that my niece was born at just 26 weeks gestation, and she is now 16 years old! She has had no lasting effects due to being a preemie either! Good Luck! Keep us updated!

New baby am thinking of you, please try to be postive once you will be you can go over it i know its hard but keep on saying i can do it and i will get to 26 week just keep on saying this to your self and have the belive that you will do it trust me sometimes we must motivate our self even at hard time like this ....i wish i could help you in any way but all i have my prayer goes to you .oh and plz stay in hospital as much as you can till every thing will be ok

Aw sweetie, my friend managed to keep her boy in from week 28-32!!! that was it, she was then rushed to get a c-section (that was agreed upon before), but hey, she made it 4 weeks! She did say she was going mental from all the lying still and solitude, but she has a healthy 7 yr old now (he has a high IQ by the way and she takes him to classes for gifted children. That much about white boys being whimpy ;) )

Everyday is a milestone xx

My sister stayed on hospital bed rest with her triplets for 4 weeks. Every day is a plus. Praying for your sweet baby boy!

 My husbands name is Michael ..He is a wonderful man and a fantastic father...

I am thinking of you so much, you are doing so well! It's okay to break down and cry, but every day you get through is one step closer to getting that precious baby Michael a bit stronger than he was yesterday, well done you, huge hugs from over here xxx

Yes! Some preemies do much better than doctors expect. I've noticed that doctors also try to give you the worst case scenario so you don't get your hopes up. 

I don't blame you at all for breaking down. Having babies at home, being in the hospital on bedrest, and now being terrified about your son would cause anyone to struggle! I'm so glad you have your husband there to help! You need TLC now too-not just little Michael! It's a HUGE milestone to have stopped labor and to be staying at 3 cm for even a few days. With my first and second sons I was at 2-2.5 cm around 30 weeks and I still carried them for 4 and 6 weeks longer respectively. You CAN do this and everyday that goes by, you should give yourself a huge pat on the back for being the strong, incredible parent that you are. Babies at 27-28 weeks have a 90% survival rate and a much lower rate of disabilities than babies born before that time (you probably already know this so I'm sorry if I'm repeating). 7-14 days does seem like forever right now so try to take it 1 day at a time. When I was on bedrest in the hospital, I planned a "special" activity or treat for each day I was there. I was my reward to myself (hubby helped though, obviously) for making it through. It helped me count the days and gave me something to look forward to instead of focusing on my fear. I'm keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers!

hugs lovemy3. thank you so much for caring and the wonderful advice. like any mother i really don't want to have  a premie but its comforting to know he might be ok. the nicu people are very supportive and nice also but yes you are 100% correct, the doctors are very concerned and drilling into my head over and over that he may have some long term issues. like i don't know this. its not like i wanted to be in this situation. i want to be prepared in case the worst should happen but i want to have hope too. i want to carry him as long as i can but good lord another 4-6 weeks in this bed is enough to drive anyone crazy.

I just saw this thread. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your precious little Michael. So promising that you haven't dialated any further. Just keep on thinking positive. It's amazing how powerful our minds are! Thinking of you.

I'm new to posting here, but saw your thread and wanted to let you know I am praying for you. I have a friend who had a micro preemie - 24 weeks, 1 lb. 1.5 oz, 11"  long. Her daddy's wedding ring fit very loosely on her little arm. She is now a hilarious, precocious 9 year old. Hang in there and keep us posted as you can.

OMG idk how I missed this post! for you and baby Michael. Also,  my friend had a baby at 26 weeks and he is a tall, heathy, smart 7 year old now.
