What's the affect of being on holiday when ttc a boy using moon signs?

Hi Peony :-) So glad to hear your scan showed a healthy little bean, but sorry the tech was grumpy! What a shame she wouldn't do a nub shot. You're not likely to have her for your 20 week scan as well are you?? (hope not!) hope the move went well for you and your DH did all the hard work ;-) hehe. I've got a bit of an urgent question for you guys.... My plan was to start TTC in June onwards depending on when I could predict an ovulation under a boy moon... I've been charting my temp and doing opk's and I have just got a +ve opk... Which would mean there is a good chance I will ovulate in Aries... Which from what I understand is the strongest boy moon. I have only been taking all my vitamins and doing a slight boy diet for the past couple of weeks, so if we did go for it then, apart from the moon thing, would my sway be strong enough? Do I need to really have been taking my vitamins etc for longer for it to have an affect on my body? When I fell pregnant with my DD I got a +ve opk on the thurs and actually ovulated on the Saturday, so if that is the case again this time then it would be right in the middle of Aries. I don't want to regret anything, so I am trying to weigh up whether it would be best to grab this opportunity, or whether I should carry on with my original plan and wait for another month or 2 when I feel my sway would be stronger to back it up if the moon signs fail me. I would be pretty gutted if we don't take this chance then I ovulate under girly moon signs for June and July etc.... But I would be equally gutted if we try and rush our master plan and I waste my sway! My DH is so laid back he is horizontal, he says he happy to go with whatever I decide, so I'm turning to you ladies :-D Pleeeease help me!! Haha. Xx

Hi girls... So then after changing my mind about 10 times I decided yesterday evening that we weren't going to try this time because I thought it was most likely that I would ovulate overnight and then I would be in the O+12 territory by the time we DTD this morning, and I didn't want to rush our attempt etc etc. So this morning my temp was still down and I had lots of EWCM, so I was back in the should we shouldn't we mess! I decided to let fate decide and flipped a coin (I'm a bit of a believer in everything happens for a reason) and the coin decided no (several times! Haha)... So we didn't and off my DH went to work. As soon as he left I felt like kicking myself, I feel really really stupid for letting this opportunity pass us by. I really don't know what I was thinking, what more did I want?? I clearly ovulated well into the strongest boy moon, we had the opportunity to DTD to guarantee that if we did conceive it would be under that moon! I couldn't have asked for more :-( My previous ovulation was under a boy moon too, so now I am worried my next ovulations will be under girly signs, or too close to the cusp to risk it. I feel like we won't get a chance as strong as this again and feel like I bottled it :-( damn me and my indecisiveness :-( :-( :-( booo. Anyway, enough about silly silly mallety, how are you both doing? Xx

Hi Skyla, mallety, well I have moved and was without a computer for a while. So nice to have it back. Bub is looking healthy, though I won't get my proper nuchal results back until the 21st (they send your blood test to Adelaide from Darwin for testing, so it takes much longer). Apart from that, I am none the wiser, I had a nasty tech who refused to give me any nub shots. I ended up asking her for one as she was not even going down there on the screen and she got really blunt and said she wasn't allowed to give those sorts of pictures. I literally ended up with 3 frontal face/skull pictures, which are a bit freaky and an arm and leg picture. Gee thanks love. There is not even another place I can go up here, so unless I decide to fly south (which I don't think I will) then I just have to be patient. I had my boys in Perth and they were so nice there.

However, I am reminding myslef to feel happy that I am able to have healthy babies. A close friend was due 2 weeks after me, and has just had a m/c. She has tried for 2 years to get pg and now this has happened to her. She doesn't have any children yet. So really I am truly blessed to have such gorgeous healthy children.

Skyla, your pH sounds perfect. And I promise that as soon as I know what I am having, you will know too! Will be in touch soon.

Wow, sounds like a pretty efficient move Peony!  Well done you. I am so disappointed that you had a nasty tech, that is just horrible. Why would someone so horrid go into that line of work?   They are meant to be loving and nurturing.  Did she not realise what a special moment your 12 week scan was for you? What a b*tch!! Glad to hear bubs is looking heathy though. Let us know the results of your nuchal when you get them.

Stories like your friend's truly do make you feel blessed to have the beautiful children you have, whether they be boys or girls. That is so sad, the poor woman must be devastated. Life can be so unfair.

Well we made our first attempt the other day. Didn't do diet, but did supps and waited for a girl moon. I got my first positive OPK at 10pm, then the moon changed to girl at 12pm the next day, so be BD at 7pm that night.  Hopefully that was far enough into girl sign for it to work.  Anyway, it wasn't the grestest attempt as the licorice root really affected DH badly, so I kept saying it would be a miracle if it worked.  Anyway, I am 11 dpo today, and tried an early detection test, and I got a positive!  I can't say I got a BFP as there was nothing big or fat about it, and it is very early days and I know it can still not work out, but I am quietly excited...

Hi Mallety, so sorry I just saw this, and I know it's probably too late, but I will reply anyway.

I reckon that would have totally been fine if you did BD.  I reckon the moon is one of the strongest indicators anyway, so if that was in the strongest male sign, then that is a massive plus.  I didn't do diet at all, I just relied on supps, and I reckon they can change your body pretty quickly  Opportunity is a fine thing, and if it seemed like the perfect opportunity, I would have grabbed it (which is what I did this month, as I so rarely O under a girl moon the conditions seemed perfect so I just grabbed the opportunity).

Anyway, I'm so sorry I only just saw your post and I know I am replying too late, but please let me know what you decided and if your did BD... xx

Hi skyla, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! That's fantastic news that you got a positive, even if it wasn't big or fat!!! Haha. You are obviously still very fertile then! Am really pleased for you, and have got my fingers well and truly crossed for you and Peony for little girls. Did you read my post above just after my post about whether I should try or not? I had trouble posting it, I can see it, but not sure if everyone else can... Anyway to sum it up, we did not DTD and I have totally regretted it and been beating myself up about it ever since. Feel so annoyed with myself. Just keep trying to tell myself everything happens for a reason and hopefully we will get another chance in June under a boy moon... :-( But it has totally cheered me up to hear that you are pg tho, will you find out the gender, or will you wait for a surprise when they arrive? Skyla!!! That is fabulous news! A huge congrats on your BFP. You did a great job and timed everything perfectly. I am so happy you got to do a sway you will feel good about. May this be your healthy little girl. I look forward to hearing how everything goes.

I finally got my nuchal results today when I saw the OB. The results were better than for someone my age, so I am happy about that. Now that I know I won't know the gender until 18-20 weeks, I am wondering if I should just wait it out and have a surprise. I am not sure if I can be that patient, but I will have made it that far, so I will see how I feel. And see how keen DH is to find out at that point too.

We told the boys about the baby last night and DS1 is being really lovely about it. He even wanted to tell his class for show and tell! He is the one I was most worried about, but it seems he is really excited. He said he'd like it to be a girl. DS2 hasn't said a lot but thought it was hilarious when I said it was about the size of a lemon. He adores babies, so I know once he sees it he will be besotted.

Hey mallety, try not to beat yourself up over waiting. It is really hard to do, especially when you think it could have been the perfect month, but I am sure there will be plenty of other opportunities. In terms of waiting longer to be on supps, etc, I agree with Skyla that I think the moon is very influential. When I asked women for their O dates and gender outcome, I had some tell me they weren't even swaying and ended up with a gender opposite without even trying. When we looked at the moon signs, they had ended up with the gender of the moon they conceived in. It would be so interesting to look at women who aren't swaing at all and see how accurate the moon sign is for them.

I always think you need to do what feels right and what you will be happy with. At the end of the day, doing as many sway things as possible is a good thing because you will always know that you did everything you possibly could to try and conceive a boy. If you had gone ahead last month, I am sure you would equally be wondering if you should have waited just that bit longer. In hindsight I had some months that would have been great for me to TTC a girl, but I wasn't yet ready or we were on holiday, etc. Things have a way of working out in the end. This may well be another boy for me, but the timing is right for my family so I am content at this point that I did my best.

The fact that you don't have numerous children of the same gender works in your favour too. You may just find that you are destined to have a boy next anyway and your body starts to O more often in a boy moon. Not long until June now, so I hope everything falls into place for you soon. Your DH sounds great BTW...I love laidback people!

Thanks girls!  I am testing every day and my positive is getting bigger and fatter each morning...! AF is due tomorrow, so I am hoping she doesn't arrive and this little bean sticks.  I am so fertile it's crazy.  If you had seen the pathetic attempt DH and I made (due to the licorice root), you too would be truly amazed that we actually managed to conceive!

Mallety, I didn't see your other post sorry, so maybe the monkeys got it?  As Peony said, please don't beat yourself up over what you didn't do.  Obviously it wasn't meant to be this month.  When you do do your sway, you will be fully prepared and content in the knowledge you did everything you could to make a little boy.  I was so happy when I got a BFP this month as I believe we did everything we could to sway pink, and the moon was perfect, so if we were ever going to have a girl, this was the month.  You will feel the same one day soon.  I think we will find out the gender.  We never have before and we so love going through all that hardship of labour and having that amazing surprise at the end, but I think as this is our last baby, and we have tried so hard to sway, then we will probably not be able to resist.

Thanks so much Peony!  I am so excited that we both have our BFP's (yours more so than mine...!) after all the time and effort we've put in!  It is lovely to share this with you.  So happy for you on the positive test results, you must be so relieved.  If you do wat to find out the gender, I will really admire your strength!  I think it will be so hard to resist (even though I've resisted twice before).  I will be dying to know what you decide. Oh, and I totally love your boys' reaction to your amazing news!  That is just so freakin' cute.  We will wait to tell our boys too til after our scan.  My oldest will just tell everyone.

Hi girls, thanks so much for making me feel better. Like you both say, it wasn't meant to be last month, so I'll just look forward to trying next time :-) at least now I feel totally ready so as soon as I ovulate under a boy moon again we can try and there will be no indecision or regret on my part! We go on holiday from 16th June, so let's hope I don't ovulate the day we're on a plane for 16 hours, else that could be interesting... Hahaha. ;-) Skyla, I've got my fingers crossed for you that AF doesn't show up tomorrow, but I'm sure it won't :-) I've got a feeling you got your little girl cooking in there. Keep me updated on all your news, and thanks again for making me feel like I haven't blown my big chance!! Xx

Yeah, only 8 days until I am 20 weeks and have my scan. DH and I don't think we'll find out the gender, but I may well ask for it to be written down in case we change our minds at some point. If it was only me going along I am sure I would find out, but DH doesn't want to keep it a secret from the kids and I don't want them telling every person we come across, so it's a bit tricky. So long as baby is happy and healthy, we will be thrilled. DH hasn't seen this bub yet, so I am glad he can come to the u/s. Relax and have fun on your holiday.

Hi girls! Sorry I havent been around, Ive just been so busy that I havent had time to get onto the site. Hope you are both well? How are you going Mallety? Have you made any attempts yet? SO exciting re your 20 week scan Peony! Although I wish you were finding out the gender... Am dying to know! I agree that you should have them write it down so you can look if you want to down the track. We havent discussed yet whether we will find out. I am so torn. I do love to have that big surprise at the end, but we tried so hard to have a girl, I kinda wanna know asap if we succeeded... But I think that once I do know I will want to un-know, if you know what I mean! I have my first ob appointment on Monday and he will do an 8 week scan, so at least we will know whats going on in there and that everything is ok... I have been sick with this pregnancy, and I have never had morning sickness before- its awful! Plus I am beginning to shown already so dont know how I am going to hide this for another 4 weeks. I didnt show with my first til 20 weeks, my second was 11 weeks, so showing at 8 weeks is not good... Goes to show how much pregnancy destroys your body! Anyway, lots of love to you girls, and hope to hear from you soon, xx

Hi skyla, hi peony :-) only 4 days to go now till your scan peony... Are you excited or nervous? I know you said you won't be finding out, but I think the writing it down on a bit of paper thing sounds like a great idea, fingers crossed for a little princess in there. Glad you are ok skyla, sorry the pregnancy seems to be a bit rough on you, but maybe it is a good sign that it is so different to your previous pregnancies... ;-) well, I made an attempt mid June before our holiday, everything fell into place beautifully, and I ovulated under Aries again, I could not believe my luck and felt like it was meant to be, but unfortunately AF showed up this morning, and I am totally totally gutted. It means for the second cycle in a row I have had a 9 day luteal phase, I just don't know what to do. My usual luteal phase is 11 days, but last cycle it was short, so I ordered some false unicorn, which arrived just before I ovulated this cycle and started taking it straight away, but it obviously hasn't helped and now I don't even know if the egg was fertilised cos it wouldn't have had a chance to implant :-( i am swaying boy, but I'm not doing anything crazy, or taking anything (other than vitamins and false unicorn) that might have an affect like that... I was so hoping to get pg this time cos I really can't keep up the sway whilst I am on hol so will not feel ready to try this cycle, but I really don't wanna miss a chance cos I don't want to have to wait too long to be pg... And I have ovulated under a boy moon 3 cycles in a row now, so what are the chances of ov again under a boy moon??? :-( sorry, I'm just rambling now, but thank you for listening / reading! Haha. Sending you lots of pink wishes :-) xx
