Okay some of you saw my post about being sad because dh's cousin is having a girl after two boys (my ideal family).  Well I was starting to feel better and I went to work tonight and was talking with a coworker (who has a boy and a girl) and I said I was glad to be there and away from my kids, they were wild today.  And she goes "Oh you have two boys.  I'm glad I have a girl."  Um thanks.

Our downstairs neighbor has just one girl and she always makes comments about how I have it harder than her cause I have boys and whenever my boys do something they shouldn't she's like, that's the problem with boys.

It drives me crazy when people have to make comments.  Personally a lot has to do with kids' personalities more than their gender,  no children are prefect.

I totally agree.  Boys do tend to have more energy for active play than girls, but that is in no way a bad thing.  My MIL told me that she'd rather raise 3 more boys again than go through dealing with her oldest (a girl) again who was a total pain as a kid and teenager (to put it mildly).  Totally depends on the kid.

People can be so mean I tell ya!  I will say though, having a friend with 4 girls her self and me with 3 boys + 1 on the way....when we get together her girls are just as rowdy as my boys.

I get so sick of hearing peoples comments about boys and all the negatives, no positives *sigh*.  I mean we all have to have a man in our lives to have babies right, so they can't be that bad ;-)  *hugs*

I just don't get why people are like that?  So dumb.  Kids are being kids!!!!  I'm surprised those comments came from moms.  Sometimes I can understand when it comes from couples who don't have kids or choose not to have kids, they don't get why kids can't sit still or why they ask random questions.  But coming from people who have kids, that's so odd, I'm pretty sure their kids "act up" too, and if their kids don't, that's just not the norm.  So whatever to those rude people!

Have two Baby Girl!  Expecting baby girl #3 in April! 3 of a kind! :) She's here and I am over my GD!  Our family is complete. Hearts

My mother, who has 3 girls said to me the other day, that it must be a 1000 times better having 3 boys than 3 girls. She really had a rough time raising 3 girls. She is so much looking forward to meet her 6th grandson (has no granddaughters) and sais little boys are the best thing in the world. Ofcourse it's all about personality, but eventhough boys might be 10 handfulls when they're young, they're so much more easy going when they grow up.

I realise now that I'm doing exactely the same thing as the girlmoms; generalizing! But I'm also so sick and tired of having girlmoms saying those things!!

Basically what I was saying was I'll be glad to have boys when they're teenagers, again, depends on their personality but girl teenagers are a handful! I have a 14yr old step-sister & I would hate to be trying to raise her at the moment! She is boy crazy & full of hormones & goes crazy at her mum/my dad. And I have a friend who has a nearly 16yr old girl who has been going through depression since she was 14 & been in & out of hospitals/mental hospitals because she harms herself. Teenage girls are way too emotional these days!

Hi there, I am so sorry that there are so many insensitive idiots out there!! I dont think that people realise that when they make comments based on gender, its NOT gender they are referring to but its actually YOUR children they are making comments about, and its wrong!!... boy or girl, its still yr flesh and blood... I have a mix of both and yes boys are easier during puberty, and girls are easier when they are younger... they just switch places... So next time a (girl) mum makes comments about yr wonderfully healthy active boys, just think to yourself 'YOU'VE GOT IT ALL TO COME' :D :D.... have fun with those little lads of yours :o)... xx

I have yet to prove my thery but we will see...

My DD was crazy in my womb, always kicking, always moving.  I think she actually got "pissed" when she'd get the hiccups (she got them alot).  She move around all crazy and start punching me like she was upset.  I always thought, "She's going to be a little spitfire."  Yeah.  She pretty much is.  She's always running around, always climbing on things.  Girls are calmer?  Hmmm....not mine!

I'm carrying a boy right now.  His movement are gentle and fluid.  I feel him move, but it's not the attitude filled movements like my daughter had.  I get a sense of calm and peace about him.  I'm thinking he will be my calm and laid back kid.  I have yet to prove it of course.

It's ALL about personality!!!

My 3 year old son is living proof that its more about personality than gender.  My older two boys have always been energetic and curious... what some moronic people would call "stereotypical boys."  My youngest is quiet, shy, reserved, and laid back compared to his brothers.  While I do love the calm that he brings to our family, I also love the "chaos" my older boys bring.  Just consider yourself lucky enough to be chosen to be the mother of your sons and to know them inside and out.. the bad, but also the GOOD others might not get to see.  Hugs to you Momma!  Happy
