have technically been in labour for a week, im MISERABLE!!! :( update!

hey everyone, its been a while since i posted on here, technically im not due till wednesday but this is 2nd baby (first labour was a fast 6 hours after 6 weeks of BH) and i had the midwife out to check me last sunday as id lost my mucous plug and been contracting but wasnt sure if my waters had gone (they hadnt) and im due to have a homebith if all goes well! BUT when checking me, she said i was 2cm dilated, easily stretchable to four so technically in early labour, i had been having contractions and cervix pain for aaages but nothing major.

all this week ive been on edge waiting, having on/off contactions all day and night, getting progressively worse and timeable, then they just stop, sometimes because ive changed position or sometimes on their own. Im not sleeping enough and my 21month old is driving me crazy because im exhausted and constantly in pain! a few nights running ive woken up with contractions so bad and close together i think it must be time and get out of bed to get the heating etc on, then they just stop out of the blue. im active, i spend ages a day sat in 'good' positions for bringing baby down into place and on a birth ball, we go on long walks everyday, my pelvis is in agony and im fed up!!! WHEN is this little monkey going to come out?!?!

 

anyone else had this, shall i ask my midwife to come and check me over?! dont know what to do!!!!!

 Sending you lots and lots of labour vibes. I think it might be a good idea to get checked just to make sure everything is going ok.

Honey, I had false labour with my last 2 sons for about 2 weeks. I was getting strong BH's every 5-10 mins in the evening for about 2 hours. I was checked with DS2 and was 3 cm dilated and fully effaced 3 days before he was born and with DS3 I was 5 cm and fully effaced 36 hours before he arrived. It is extremely frustrating I know and I remember the cervix pain well. In fact I often felt like DS3 was going to fall out!!!

well i am STILL pregnant, now overdue and still having false labour and still miserable, nearly slapped a lady in my local coop (we live in a small village) who decided to talk to every other customer nearby in the queue about how im bigger this time round and it must be a boy because im carrying like a beach ball but my bottom has gotten bigger, i mean REALLY?!!? doesnt help that im hoping for a girl so that grates on my nerves! oh and asking that ridiculous question "''aven't you 'ad that baby yet, love?" CLEARLY not!

 sorry just thought id rant here because someone else might understand why rude british customs like commenting on a womans body in a negative way just because she's pregnant makes me want to turn ferral and start criticising their body flaws!!! im normally a gentle person and have patience any other time, but im not a nice pregnant person especially when my midwife told me three weeks ago that id have the baby within a few days!!!

 

grrr rant over! anyway, anyone else now overdue and feeling miserable?....hoping not to end up part of the december due group...cant take much longer of false labour and being in pain for NO good reason!

You have my sympathies. I was driven nuts by the false labour and was especially worried with DS3 because we knew he would potentially be big and I had him at home, so was worried about him getting stuck if I went over. (He was 5 days late and 8lb 15oz). It will happen soon I promise. Baby won't stay in forever!! Good luck and keep us posted.

You have my sympathies as well. I was 5 days overdue, finally had my little girl on the 23rd. I only gained about 17 lbs total during my pregnancy, and I carried all in the front like a basketball up high. When I finally delivered, out came a TEN POUND, 22 inch long girl! Nobody expected that, least of all me. Everyone keeps asking where she was hiding because I didn't look that big on the outside. Just try to remember you CAN'T be pregnant forever.:)

Oh thats sstinks matey... going over due is so frustrating! I tried accupuncture, induction accupuncture, and i was in labour within 24 hours! it helped give me a decent nights sleep, which i think helped to relax my body enough to start the labour chemicals. maybe give that a go.
