It has just hit me like a brick wall..

Tomorrow is my last full day at home before I go into meet my daughter. I have suddenly become really scared about the induction process and what is going to happen, I am also scared about being a mum of 2... I hope I can calm down and enjoy tomorrow with DS and I don't want him feeling my anxiety. Ugh why can't I just go into natural labour already?!

Don't be too nervous about the induction.  I was induced both times and it isn't all that bad.  1st labor took 12 hours on pitocin and 2nd labor only took 6 hrs.  Based on the post in my other thread it sounds like your body is already preparing itself and so the pitocin will just help things along instead of starting from zero and working towards 10.  Good luck to you!

i too was really nervous, it took me about 6 hours my last 3 inductions. it will go really fast and before you know it you will be holding baby Lilly. good luck and enjoy your day with M tomorrow. cant wait to see little Lilly!

My water broke with my first and contractions then began on their own, but they did give me pitocin at one point to get things moving along... I had a fine experience with it. No problems or complaints, but I also had an epidural so not sure how bad it made my contractions. Enjoy your last alone time with your son... I intend to do that over the next couple days. And as my mom has said when I worry about having 2 little ones... just take it one day at a time.

make sure they use Cervadril and not Cytotek on your cervix and have them start the pitocin small - like a 2 or a 4 and go up slowly.  Make sure they discuss with you before upping the Pit!

I am having something called a pessarie(sp?) inserted into my cervix which should dialate my cervix and cause me to have contractions once my body is showing progress they are goin to remove it and let my body carry on on it's own, they think my body just needs a little reminder of what's got to happen. I am not sure if they are even using anything else. Ugh I am so uneducated on this which nerves me even more.

Is it a cervix softening pill?  I had that with DS2 but it didn't start labor for me unfortunately.  Of course, I had absolutely no productive contractions beforehand so maybe it would work better if your body was a little further along.

Don't worry, you will be OK  I think it's normal to worry about change, I did going from 3 to 4 kids.

I have never been induced but make sure you ask lots of questions and if you want an epi ask when they can give it to you, make it clear from the beginning that you want one. Hopefully the pessary will be enough but they might want to use something stronger if it doesn't and that may bring on very strong contractions straightaway, hence the need for an epi

Thanks girls! I have been prepping everything all day and night. My house is spotless all bags are packed and ready. I just have to go food shopping in the morning and then that is it! OMG - this is it now!! 15hours until I will be there!!
