M/C 3 wks ago....now what?

Hi Ladies,

I'm on page 12 of the post "recovering from m/c". It is so reassuring to read about the feelings you experienced. For me, it is still so fresh. I'm reading posts from 3/2010 and I'm amazed when I read what you girls posted and I've had the exact same thoughts and feelings.

So I'm just waiting for AF to arrive. So frustrating. I still have no idea what my body is doing......I've always been able to tell where I am in my cycle and now I am just guessing.

I can hardly handle going over to my DDB and yet I continue to go over there, lurking and wanting to know how everyone's doing. And yet, my heart breaks every time because I'm not 13.5 wks pg like I should be.

So how about this post being a new thread for those of us who have just recently experienced a m/c? I'm 3 wks and 1 day post D&C. Each day seems to get better and then it will just hit me out of nowhere and I feel so so sad. The rest of the world goes on it seems and yet I'm surprised by the intensity of my grieving and my hormones being all over the map.

Anyone else?

I just want to say ((HUGS)) we miss you. This was me too when I had my m/c just before Eva. It hurt. bad. I know what your saying about how life just goes on. I would almost get mad to see DH smiling and laughing after the D&E as if life was just fine. I don't think a lot of people get it unless they have experienced it.

My cycles was a little funny as well it took me 6 weeks from the D&E for AF to start. I waited two cycles as my OB recommended the wait was the worst part I think. I just wanted to be pregnant in the worst way. Once I got pg I felt soooo much better happy. I hope AF comes soon and you have a gentle recovery   

Thanks you Sunny...I miss you girls so much! Good to know that your AF after D&E came 6 wks after. I'm usually on a 26-28 cycle so I'm anticipating AF anyday now, but so far there are no signs of her arrival.

I too want to be pg in the worst way. I've had IUDs between each pg so to have to wait and "be careful" not to get pg is terribly hard. We seem to like BDing alot and neither of us like to use protection! But I think it has been good for our healing in this whole process. Some days I don't care what the medical advice says and just throw heed to the wind!

Well thats great you two are extra fertile so I'm sure TTC won't take long The only reason why I waited is b/c I was 10 weeks at the time and I had the D&E I wanted to make sure my lining was thick enough to support a healthy pregnancy. If I had a natural m/c I would tried right away. I do see people getting pg right away after a later term m/c and the next pg is fine but I wanted to be sure. It's up to you though and if it happens you know so be it

I too was 10 wks. Is a D&E the same thing as a D&C? It makes sense that you waited for a couple cycles to get pg for your lining to better support a pregnancy.

So today (I think) AF arrived....exactly 27 days after my D&C. I've never been so happy to have her arrive. I feel like now I can start figuring out my cycle and think about TTC again.

Thats great!! I'm so glad af has arrived. I remember mine was a but diff than normal and I had more cramps. I think a D&E and D&C are the same thing. Even though the wait sucked I'm glad I did I was in a better place that time not as worried as I would of been getting pg right after.

I am PCOS and had no idea when and if my period would come after my D&C.  I got a prescription for Provera and took that 10 days before I thought my period should come.  I was then able to have a bleed and start TTC again.  Took us 3 months to conceive and now we are just 2 weeks away from meeting this baby.  The thought that got me feeling happy thoughts again after losing our last baby at 14 weeks was that someday, I would have a new baby in my arms and I would look at that baby and know that he/she wouldn't be there if it weren't for the loss of my March angel baby.  

I'm so sorry for your loss. I am watching my sister go through a similar thing.  She miscarried last week, which was 2 weeks after she found out by u/s that her baby had passed.  She would've been 12 weeks this past weekend.  Personally, I'm surprised by how much I am saddened by her loss. I am grieving too- that would've been my niece or nephew.
