I don't feel like going all out for the diet but will eat some egg beaters, rice, chicken salads and oatmeal and such but don't want to leave out meat completely. I get anemic so I will have to eat meat...  just wondering if you were all totally strict, somewhat strict or a little bit strict? thanks all

Are you in the US? I am in the UK and the beef over here doesn't contain all the hormones that US/South American beef does. Growth hormones for cattle are strictly forbidden over here. I ate beef while TTC pink, it really filled me up and it was quite acidic - it lowered my PH. However, I only ate British/Irish beef, I would even check in restaurants and if it was not Irish/British beef I'd just order chicken. Just so you know, eggs are high in iron (the yolk) as is chicken and if you take Vit C tablets (which also sway pink) then it helps with the absorption of iron.

I wasn't strict, I can tell you what I do when I conceived my girl:

 1. Egg beaters

 2.  Strawberries and raspberries

3.  Rice milk

4.  Increased chicken intake

5.  Low sodium bread

6.  Didn't add salt to items

7.  Lots of crystal light!!!!

8.  Still ate some red meat

Low sodium is one of the biggest things with swaying for a girl in my opinion. When I conceived my girl my sodium was so low that I was fainting and the doctor did blood tests and told me that my sodium was dangerously low and that I needed to salt my food! Even my 12 week bloods came back low in sodium. When I conceived my boys I would have been having lots of salt. You don't realise how much salt is in food till you start checking the packets. I really think unprocessed cooked chicken breast or cooked steak with no salt added is good for swaying pink.

I thought the biggest thing with steak wasn't the hormones but the protein. Beef is rich with protein and as I get it, protein raises testosterone. This is why you are suppose to avoid steak/beef.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think you'll get a mixed bag of answers here. If you get anemic take an iron supplement. I mean it's your choice but red meat is an absolute no-no in my book. The diet is the most important part of the sway, keep that in mind.
