It looks like Im going to HRC next month to do GS, so excited!

I posted on the US forum like this one, but Im always on this one and recognise so many of you that I wanted to post here incase anyone has the answers to my questions!

At the weekend totally out of the blue, our friends in California offered us their home for the whole of August while theyre away, until now Dr.P was not an option because the expense of US flights, accommodation on top of treatment. But now we have a house at no cost it seems too good to be true. Its all happening so fast, we were thinking of Cyprus maybe end of 2011 early 2012 and from that to be going next week seems like a whirlwind!

Apparently I need to go to London and have my bloods done next week along with a uterine scan and then I start Lupron shots end of July 30. The clinic seem to make it all sound easy. Dr. Potter and Lori seem brilliant so far, really efficient and making it all so straightforward and simple

My head is whirling and buzzing, I think my journey is about to begin! If anyone has any advice Id really appreciate it, im really nervous about doing the shots myself!

Can anyone offer advice on the lupron shots?

What might the lupron shots make me feel like? Is it hard to inject yourself eek

Snowlilly - in cyprus did you have any kind of sperm sort before fertilisation of your eggs? Dr.P doesnt offer microsort anymore, did you sort at all?

thank you to anyone that can help me through this, sooo excited but terrified too x

WOW so excited for u!!!! I cannot wait for your updates. There are loads of OHW BFPs from Dr P on IG, I think u have an excellent chance of coming home pregnant! Reunited36 from the UK I recall went to him and transferred 2 GSN embryos and I think her twins are due this month! Yes, I also asked for the sperm sort, and out of my 4 embryos, 3 were females (4th had a problem with sex chromo but may too have been female). I am now 4 months with my singleton girlie! FX you will be pregnant too-not long to go til u begin your journey. Lots of luck. PS shots are no prob, honestly u will be a pro in no time!!!!!

Aw thank you girls, I feel so reassured about the shots now.

my head was spinning this morning but as the day has passed I am settling and just want to get going and am excited to start the adventure

I wish Dr.P did a sperm sort :( that's the only negative I can see, but he did mention the GSN that you mention snowlilly, I don't know what that is? If anyone knows please can you let me know! I had so many questions for Dr.P when I spooke to him that I didn't get back to that

I'm so pleased your feeling so well snowlilly, you must be so excited! Has your little boy turned one yet, my little man had his first bday this weekend just gone, take care xx

HI, GSN is where they test all 24 chromosomes. I would read thru all the US posts on it, there is loads of info, more than I could tell u, but I guess the big thing is that on the one hand if all 24 are normal, you have a great chance of a healthy pregnancy and reassurance. On the other, there is more chance of a no transfer, and I have heard some of the IG ladies discussing false positives and self correction once in the womb. I dont know. Savvas offered a 5 probe (ie gender and 3 others like Downs) and I never questioned further. Now that it has worked, I would have loved the reassurance of knowing all 24 were normal, but would have been devastated at a no transfer. But if Dr P offers it and you get enough embryos to test, then why not?! FX and stay positive that u will get your normal GSN transfer. x

Am so so fed up, have spent all week talking to HRC clinic, setting up London bloods & scans and just about to book our flights when our friends have changed their minds and so we won't have accomodation after all :(

I was so excited to get going and the opportunity to go to have the treatment with Dr.Potter. I've spent the last 2 days just getting my head round not going now.

for us financially the US was not really do-able and we were always thinking Cyprus was our only option til our friends offered us their house, they have no idea really what their change of heart has meant to me and DH, but I feel ok today because its made me all the more determined to do this soonish and it feels really do-able and in just one week of planning it all seemed to slot into place. The clinics in London seemed very helpful and didn't ask questions.

anyway just wanted to let you all know that for now my adventure is on pause ;)

perrypop3 really sorry for you how upsetting. Maybe it's worth looking into europe. after my first cycle I wa so upset and rang dr P who 's team reasured they could sort it all out for me then, then dr P never got back to me after waiting by the phone for 4 hours  my husband was so cross and said that Savvas was the one for us. And although nature takes it's course we have never been let down by cyprus and their team. Maybe there is some one out there even better for you and the treatment you want. hugs x

Hi snowlilly,

Just wanted to touch base again and say I've now confirmed flights and accommodation for February and cycling at the HRC in e US, I'm so so excited but really nervous as this is my one shot, I'll be 34 and so not sure about success but I've gotta have a shot at it!

Dr P is not doing Microsoft and has offered to sperm sort for me to make me feel better and like I'm giving it the best poss chance. What type of sperm sort did Savvas use? Also I know you started vitamins etc 3 months before, do you remember what you took in preparation and how much of them, you advice will be so appreciated as always :) x
