Question about 14 wk U/S!! Going crazy!!

I had a U/S a few wks at 14wk 3 days, and when she looked between the legs there was "something swollen"  but we NEVER saw a penis!   Also, the legs were WIDE open so it couldn't have been squished or anything. My question is, if it were in fact a BOY, wouldn't we have for sure seen the penis if the legs were wide open?  I am trying to hold onto to any hope here that this might be my girl. I already have 2 beautiful boys and this is our last one.

Would the labia be so swollen to where the doc would have guessed it to be the scrotum?  I am going crazy here!  I have looked at HUNDREDS of U/S pics of boys at that age and the majority of them you can clearly see the penis!  I wish the doc would have never made a guess on the sex that early!  Ughhh!!     She didn't even give me a pic of the toilet shot, which I am hoping was because she was guessing!  Lol

My next U/S isn't until August 15th where I will be 22 wks! So far away!  LOL

You may want to go and read the thread titled, "why not to have an ultrasound at 14 weeks".  If there was something between the legs, and not 3 lines, I'm going to guess boy.  But, you never know.  I would just try to enjoy your pregancy, or go back and try to find out around 17 weeks.  Can you do an elective where you live?

You sound a lot like me- I have boys born in 04 and 06, and had a girl born Dec. 17th! (of 08) I had an u/s at 14w1d with her, ad when we got a look at the toilet shot, we saw nothing protruding, and 2 lines.  Yours sounds a little ambiguous still, but hopeful, since you didn't see boy parts yet!  Good luck!!

I hope I have a girl on Dec 17th!  LOL   All we saw was something swollen and bulging out but there was never no penis sticking out. I seen many girls with a bulge (swollen labia) so I am praying that's what mine was! ;)     I don't remember any lines, but then again I have crappy eyes ( I need glasses) and the monitor was at a angle so I didn't get a very good look, but my husband said he never saw anything sticking out either!

I have read the forum from CC about the 14 wks.. I was just trying to find some comfort in knowing I may still have some hope! 

There is a place here in Augusta that does scans, but they are expensive and my hubby don't want me to do it since I am already almost 17 wks along and I can get one for free next month

I think you have hope for a girl. I wouldn't trust a potty shot in the 14th week, even if you DID see something that looked like a scrotum. Girls and boys still look very similar at that time.

What did the tech guess???Did you get a pic???Like I said 14 weeks is a VERY tricky time,so it could be boy/girl.

Yeah, she said if she were to guess, she thinks it might be a boy. But now I wish I wouldn't have told her to tell me if she saw anything. I should have just waited!     Now, I am going crazy and I am scared this might be a boy. I swayed for a girl using the diet, supplements, AND the moon sign theory since it was correct with both my boys and just about everyone I knew!  Lol 

No, she did not give me a pic. I am hoping it's because it was only a guess. I go in on August 15th for my big U/S. I do have to go in next week for a follow up on my glucose monitor ( they took me off Metformin and now I have to check my sugar levels)  So, I might have her give me a quick peek, and ask her how sure she is on the sex.

I am in Pembroke (Ft Stewart) just moved here about a month ago.. I get my ultrasound at 16week 3 days and im hoping they can correctly tell me the gender.. im very worried now it seems a lot of people get told the wrong sex..

Welcome to GA!  LOL  I am actually moving next month! Thank GOD!  I have had ENOUGH of this heat!
