Well after my spotting this weekend (I had more sunday, it was dark, like it was old, I went in and she checked me, said I'm 50% effaced, my cervix is real short and I'm at a fingertip....So she'd really like me to go to L&D since she was on her way over there and monitor my contractions. So I went and they hooked me up, and my contractions weren't severe, but they were regular, they usually are. So she did the fetofibrinogin swab. If it's negitive I will not go into labor within two weeks, if it's positive she said it could go either way...well, an hour and a half later it was negitive. I was started on fluids and told to wait on her....3 hours goes by and the nurse said my doc said I could go and she'd call when she got out of surgery...then she looked at my monitor tape and said "actually, I want her to look at these". So two more hours and my doc comes in. she said she couldn't put a link to how the test came back negitive but my contractions were stronger and more rythmic. I told her they had been that way a lot so I'm not sure what to look for if it continues. She said she knew I had been telling her that, but to see it on the monitor made her a little more nervous....WELL YOU SHOULDA LISTENED TO ME! Grrr, I think that's the first time I've been irritated with her...I mean, I understand she gets paranoid moms but I dont ever call I just let her know yes I'm still contracting frequently sometimes they hurt sometimes they dont and she never addresses it so I dont worry...but now that it's on the monitor it means something? Anyway....she told me bed rest all week, to take the week off and if I really feel great by Friday she'd let me go to light duty at work, but if my contractions are still feeling rythmic at my next appointment with her, she might keep me on BR......I CAN"T stop working right now! Yikes so I really hope I can get the contractions to calm down in the meantime....My boss is being really awesome so Im super glad.
Anyway, so I'm home now and will be keeping my feet up the rest of the week! Oh and the reason she didn't give me anything to stop/slow the contractions was because of my heart condition and my syncope/fainting spells she thought it would make that worse and make me feel pretty miserable so decided bedrest was the way to go for now..
