My little Princess Melanie arrived on April 15th @ 4:44 Am, I was scheduled to be induced on 4/14 and was told to be at the hospital at 6:30 am, but right before i left the house they called from the hospital that they didnt have any beds available for me.. Long story short i waited alllll day for them to call me. They finally called me around 4 pm wanting to reschedule me for the next day but i didnt want to do that because i wanted to Deliver with the doctor that was on call on the day that i was scheduled, So i got to the hospital around 6pm, they gave me my room and they told me they werent going to start me on pitocin because it was too late in the day and they like to do pitiocin in the morning. So again i told the nurse that if i get pitocin in the morning i wont deliver with the dr that i want, so she spoke to the dr and they agreed to start me on pitocin at 3 am and estimated that i'll have the baby sometime around breakfast time. So 3 am came and they started me on pitocin. about 1/2 later i started feeling the contractions getting stronger, around 3:45 i got up to use the restroom and i had some heavy show already, when i went back to my bed at 4am my water broke! I started asking the nurse for my epidural and she told me i had to wait for my IV to finish but when she saw i kept asking for it she checked me and saw i was at 6cm a few minutes later i asked her had she called the dr yet, i just new something was going on, i had a feeling the baby was coming really soon, i felt my body pushing the baby down, so she laughed and told me no not yet, so i told her OK (like in a kind of sarcastic way because she thought i was exagerating but i really wasnt) Sure enough a couple of min later i had the urge to push, so she checked me again and told me i was 9 cm that quick! So she went to call the dr, and while she was on the phone with the Dr i told my husband to go tell her i had to push, While on the phone with the Dr, she told me not to push that the Dr was on her way, but i told her i couldnt hold it, I laid sideways hoping that will calm me down and she told me to just breathe through the contractions and to close my legs, Nothing was working!!! I felt my body pushing the baby out! i had 2 contractions that felt like the baby was going to just come out, the third one i felt the head actually come out, (remember all this is happening while im laying on my side with my legs closed!) so i screamed to the nurses that the head was out and they were like Nooo, they didnt want to belive me and i was like yessss so they lift my legs up and saw that my baby's head was all the way out! They quickly put me on the middle of the bed and told me to push one more time and out came Melanie at 4:44 am without a Dr! An RN delivered my baby.... and I didn't make it to get an epidural. I thought I would never be able to deliver without the epidural. I couldnt believe it! .This has been my fastest delivery. Remember Pitocin was started at 3 am and i had her at 4:44! I basically delivered my baby myself. My husband didnt even get to cut the umbilical cord. THe Dr walked in a few min later to deliver the placenta.... Later on i started thinking that things couldve really went wrong, what if my baby wouldve had the umbilical cord around her neck?!?! anything couldve went wrong without a Dr. But thank God my baby is just perfect! I love he sooo much. Im soooo in love!
Sorry for the long post, i tried to keep it as short as possible.
