Wow, I thought they looked legit. How long ago did you do this test? Was it for your last girl? I was planning to use them, but now I'm worried since I've had two boys already. Was your blood drawn by a male tech? Do you know if they separated the plasma right away? Had you had a transfusion/bone marrow transplant?

Sorry, one more question. Did you test 10 weeks after your LMP, or 10 weeks after conception?

Oh, whoa, I just saw that it was a different company that was wrong for you. Was it drops of blood on a piece of paper, or an actual vial of blood drawn in a dr's office? I read the entire scientific study on fetal DNA testing in the mother's blood, and the study confirmed that when maternal blood was drawn and the plasma separated, the testing was 95% accurate for gender, but that the at home testing through the mail with drops of blood on a card and urine-based testing were not accurate at all.

Yes, I did at 10 weeks of conception. They sent all the supplies to me, a litmus paper kind of small patch, and a needle to punch my finger, I punched it and put the blood in the paper, when it dried I mailed it to them. They called me and said it was contaminated so they are sending me another supply kit for free, so I did the whole process again and sent they called me and said they saw XY chromosomes in my blood which means I am having boy. This was during my second daughter, chinese calender said boy too. However she is a girl!!!!!! my humble request - dont waste your money, !!!

I'm so sorry you were suckered into this testing which has not been proven to be accurate at all. Yeah, any testing done with drops of dried blood on a card have been shown to be inaccurate. The testing is for cell-free fetal DNA, and the red blood cells in the maternal blood deteriorate those quickly if the blood is left whole or not "fixed" with formaldehyde. The blood drying also seems to have an effect on the effectiveness of the test, not to mention that your home is not a sterile testing environment. A male could sneeze in the room or dust from male skin cells could settle on the sample and contaminate it. I'm still reserving judgement for this particular company, but I'm sure that the science on this kind of testing is solid.

I' m not pregnant yet, but I was thinking about the same company the OP linked to. I will definitely share my results on this forum if I decide to go ahead with it rather than just do a CVS.

I just got the one at the doctor, told them a cvs scared me due to miscarriage risk, the insurance is paying for it, not sure what it will tell, nurse said its very new, I will post results and how long it takes, I'm 13 w and supposed to go back 16w for full anatomy scan -said test blood test finds free floating fetal DNA - they took to vials, had me sign some labwork that genetics in the name- good luck and many blessings!

Do you know which lab is processing your results? There's one in Ontario, Canada and one in Houston, TX. I can't wait to see if yours is accurate!
