My doctor prescribed 4mg of zofran every 8 hours as needed for my (all day long) morning sickness.  I am so hesistant to take anything during pregnancy even though my doctor assured me it is safe for mom & baby.  I always think of those instances when the experts change their minds on drugs years later.  Just curious what others think and what their experiences have been.  I really want relief, but still feel guilty about taking anything!!!!

Take it! You'll be so happy you did. I am a NICU nurse and was scared to take it when first prescribed too, but I took it with my second pregnancy and my son is 4 years old now and perfectly healthy. I am having to take a full 8mg with this pregnancy b/c MS has been so bad, but I know a lot of other moms who took it also and their babies are completely healthy. It also helps to take Zantac twice a day even if you don't feel the heartburn yet. It settles the acid in the stomach and the combination of the 2 really will help you feel better. One thing about the Zofran is that you have to take it around the clock, not just when you feel sick. If you are already nauseas it won't help. I take it in the middle of the night when I get up to pee too. Take every 8 hrs!! Hope this helps:)

TAKE IT! I was suffering and I mean suffering puking 8-9 times a day for WEEKS until they finally put me on it. I lost 15lbs before they finally gave it to me and my god was it a godsend! I would eat finally i was puking up even water and gatorade and had to go in for weekly IV treatments I was getting so bad. I ended up taking that like 4 times a day just to be able to eat but it worked. I would be waking up in the middle of the night finding i was throwing up in my sleep. My daughter was just finebtw even when i took more than my dog recommended

UPDATE:  Ladies, thank you again for your comments.  I took it for a few weeks.  The first pill was like switching a light on..it immediately killed my symptoms.  Over time, the result was not as strong, but definately effective!  One bad side effect: horrible constipation!  Friends, if you take zofran, I suggest you greatly increase your fiber along with it and keep milk of magnesia on hand in case of trouble!!  Overall, this was a great solution to a terrible time I was having.  Good luck to all others struggling with all-day-morning sickness too!!!
