Saw my baby today :)

Had a scan this morning because of having a m/c at this time and I am so relieved, baby is doing great and is absolutely adorable!

We saw lots of kicking and waving, he/she gave us a real show the tech said.

Measuring 9w6days.

So glad to hear this.  What a special thing for you to see.  I'm so glad everything is going well and every time I see you post some thing postive about your baby, it puts a big old smile on my face 

 Oh, that's awesome!  I wish you could bottle that feeling.  When's your next scan?  Doing NT?

Al - Yes, it's a shame you can't make it last for longer, nothing more reassuring than seeing baby wiggle around  I saw the midwife today and we did the paperwork for the NT scan, I should get a letter with the date sometimes between 11w5days - 13w5d. Hopefully not after 13 weeks or I'll go nuts waiting to see the little one again.  The blood work will be the same day. She said that b/c of my age (37) and spotting I might be high risk  AND that an amnio might not be a good idea as I would have higher risk of miscarriage due to my history. Great, I didn't have enough stuff to worry about...

Btw...the midwife doesn't want me to use the doppler before 16 weeks as there will be times when I can't pick up the baby's heartbeat and it might freak me out for nothing. DH doesn't want me to use it either  I don't know how I'll be able to wait 2-3 weeks til my next scan not knowing what's going on in there - yikes!

Vendela, are you in the States?  I had my blood drawn for the 1st trimester blood screening on 10 weeks exactly because it is processed through the state (California) and it takes 2 weeks to get the results.  My NT scan is scheduled for 12+1 so the blood work will be back by then.  Praying for a tiny little neckfold so that we don't even have to look at the blood work - but if it's borderline, I will already have the blood work to use.  I picked 12+1 for the scan because I wanted a nub shot - which is probably dumb because they often won't perform a CVS after 12 weeks and I guess it is hard in my area to get an appointment.  So, if the results are high risk, we will have to wait for the amnio at 15 weeks - which would be HELL.

If you can't find the HB, get up, have some juice, jump up and down and try again.  

 Al - No I am in the UK so everything is done through the hospital. They want the blood to be taken same day as the scan. If high risk they call you within 2 days, if not you get a letter 7-10days later. I don't get to pick my scan date, unfortunately... I am also praying for a tiny neck measurement. With DS3 it was so small the Dr said straight away I wouldn't be high risk, FX! I hope neither one of us has to consider the amnio.

Thanks for the doppler tips. I think I will use it again, just won't tell DH so had better not freak out  I just can't go 2-3 weeks without checking in

Aww thanks!  I don't feel like I'm so far along.  Feels like it's taking forever   So happy that soon (well...eventually hehe) we'll both be holding our long awaited bundles.  I will definitely be stalking you and your journey
